I have a SCX24 crawler, its a fun little toy
also have a xmaxx, it breaks all the times :-\
-
I have an original Kyosho Inferno Gen 1 somewhere. https://rc.kyosho.com/en/inferno30th Bought the Maxx when I broke myself a couple of years ago. I had lots of RC cars in my teen years. Mostly Tamiya buggies. A few planes that I built from kits, only to see them smash into a million pieces.
-
i had radio shack buggies that were almost hobby grade, then my neighbor gave me all of his 3 Tamiya Frogs and tons of parts for them. those were fun.
then i had a coople stampedes and made one 4x4 before that was available,
Ofna Monster pirate
Duratrax MT pro
Helis gas and electric
boats gas and electric
airplanes gas and electric
submarines electric
some battle bot stuff my first year at UB and other stuff along the way
then i built a jeep and joined the club, havent touched any of it since
-
this was the best RC car I had when I was a kid
-
o man that is a blast from the past
i think one of the neighbor kids had one of those

i had one of these guys for a while!
wore the rubber off the tires!

I had this one. 1984 Kyosho Chevy Pickup. It was chain drive. I remember being upset because all my friends had buggys that were way faster. I got the Grasshopper next.

My dad had a buggy like that. Terrifyingly fast. I was truly too young to handle it (8ish?) when we were doing RC things, I might still be. I don’t think it made the move from MN. I had some sort of 4x4 Bigfoot type thing that wasn’t terribly interesting. It was fun enough but that didn’t really stick.
Dad was way into it before I came along, had nitro planes and boats. I fooled with the 42” cigarette style fiberglass boat, got it set with 1990 modern radio but it never ran perfectly and weeds were an issue off our dock so I lost interest in that too. I think all that got tossed when they moved out here too.

lots of fun was had with about 10 of us at the jokenin farm today. 2 trips with 2 tractors and dump trailers of rocks, logs ect to make a pretty sweet rock course.
we were entertained for about an hour after setup before cold temps set in.
good to see a pretty strong showing from the club!

pulled the engine on my Monster Pirate
got it soaked with oil and turning over.
pull start was broke, probably why it got put away last
put fresh batteries in the car and swapped around some stuff all electronics working
some rope or a new pull assembly, or just use a drill with some fresh nitro i should be able to give a go at firing it up. need to find a sub C or D batt for glow ignitor also.
my other car, engine is locked up too, and missing some other bits. not sure i have another good 27 mhz reciever.
-
put portals and all metal gear sets front and rear on the ridgerock tonight!
-
machine hubs, new body fitted, portals
-
picked up a jug of 20% nitro fuel today and some pull cord material
got it put back together and fired right up.
Motor is a bitchy as i remember it. never could get it to respond to needle adjustments right as its the only nitro motor i have ever had that has low, med, high needle adjustments.
