Title: WTT 1.5 hp electric motor for something smaller
Post by: mr.mindless on May 10, 2015, 05:03:00 PM
I can’t run this at all on the Honda, and it pops breakers pretty much anywhere else.

Something in the 8-12a 120v range would be nice.

Have anything?

I’ve also got a 16a 240 only 3.5 hp unit I’d trade for. Not rpm rating on that. Thats a spare for my big compressor.

5/8” shaft w 3/16 keyway

It has a 5.25 od pulley. Just ordered 4 and 4.5” to try. Should reduce load, right? Startup load seems to be an issue as well as running load so I’m not sure if that’ll help as much as I’d like.

change to a hot start cap, i think there are kits to help reduce startup

Running load is an issue as well

Details? Definitely interested if the underdrive doesn’t take care of it.

Awesome. I started to play with my pulleys the day they came in, but got sidetracked when the stock pulley didn’t slide right off.

Lmk if you want to try this one. It was on a $1200 water pump that I got in the scrap pile at my buddy's farm. So should be decent.

You can pick up Sunday afternoon, or I can drop off at your house on my way to work on Tuesday.

Pulley swap seemed to work. Haven't actually used air though so not sure how much volume I lost with a 20% size reduction.
