You should call it the "Fat Albert" because of its massive weight. :)

Like this. Hahahahahaha, Shit talking has begun.

-
you guys wont beable to handle to power of the 97, geared, with actual tires.
-
But think of all the extra leg room w the extra cab.
I won't be needing any.
-
i am ok with extended cab. i like my knees
-
He's gonna need the room to store all the panties thrown at this thing
-
Lmao
When do you pick one up Troy?
-
pulling glass and rest of dash/under hood tonight
-
axle code says 4.10 gears
-
winner!
-
Lmao
When do you pick one up Troy?
i dont know what your guys hurry is, got like 6 months before these things see a race
focusing on finishing the buggy and finding a trailer
-
i plan to be testing before snow flies sir!
besides, this thing might be the Bro snow plow light!
-
https://rochester.craigslist.org/pts/4698247659.html
this guy sounds like a toothless crack head, would only go to 200$ wouldnt take 150$
haha
too spendy for bro cherry
-
heres the cheap suspension seat

-
Looks like just foam...
-
I'm with Smike.
I want to be testing before snow.
-
Anyone look into shocks yet?
-
Is smike on the fox racer program.
Let's get an order together.
-
Fox 2.0 remote res 10" front 12 " rear is what i found in another build
-
Emailed Erik Miller
-
ya im in the fox program
-
My understanding is that Erik miller has shocks valved for the brolites. 10" front 12" rear. Copied you in on the email.
-
whats this shackel flip thing i see to lower the rear?
-
everything needed from summit ordered except i forgot a window net
-
everything needed from summit ordered except i forgot a window net
Damn, me too.
-
tube rack'd and 24' lengths dont fit in my shop :o
tube holes cut in back of cab
bedsides and tail gate skins cut
all scrap loaded for lunch run
-
67$ in scrap today!
-
mustang wheels are spaced pretty deep
looks like four 1.5" spacers runs 95$ shipped on ebay
not sure it would be enough
-
i hate reading through dumbness

sweet shoes!
-
Nice
-
this thing is a sweet moble shop lot light
packed in the kitchen hauler for customer work completion :(
-
Aren't those short course tires like 35" tall?
-
they are indeed.
little big hehe
-
She's gonna be a screamer. :o
-
Maybe with 6.89 gears in it...
-
it will just turn into a 2 speed truck :)
-
I never hit 3rd on the hot lap course at Rausch driving Decker's with something around 30-31s on it. I think it was stock diff gears. Timmy put some 5.38s or something into his, I bet that'll be good for 2-3 shifting but never 4th...
-
Just scoored 4 more mustang wheels!
-
fits
stripped this guy yesterday. gutted and front clip gone.
-
Looks like a Dezert Ranger Right There!
-
interweb says thats are 05+ GT wheel
the four i got are just reg older wheels
-
mounted up 4 more tires and threw them on the truck with 2" wheel spacers. looks mint. gona try to make it work. planning on 8.8 with max gear ratio spooled.
-
rough crowd on the FB for getting the best looking bro!
not like 20 lug nuts can change performance back lol
-
All show no go :)
It'll scream with 30-32s though!!

ready for shocks / plumb / wire.
harness mounts and cell mounts done. rear shocks removed.

Looking good
-
put on the lift tonight
front shocks removed
front firewall trimmed and beat in
2" lift spacers installed
2" lift spacers removed, not going to work.
-
What's wrong with doing a taller spring
-
Camber all f'd up
-
TTB will do that unless you change the pivot points or turn the beams.

ran my test loop around the shop property! this is going to be too fun
needs a clutch or something. no clutch now bah.
-
Def gonna be fun.
My wife's hot laps after taking it off the trailer involved a low limb on our Japanese maple tree and the contractors cap.
;)
Passenger seat is on the list
-
looks like when the coil popped out after bajaing into the kitchen hauler the tire ripped off the clutch resivior nipple.
i temporarly tapped and fixed, but cant get the clutch to bleed.
looks like the trans is coming out the put all new parts in. bah!
-
Bummer. Broken before the first race!
-
what do i need to fix the clutch in this pile?
i cant get it to bleed out with my hack fix. forums say you have to pull the master from the firewall and tip it to bleed air.
is there a fully bleeded assembly to swap in?
pull the trans and swap clutch and all?
-
I have a syringe you can try and back bleed it..
-
maybe, but im looking for a quick fix so i can move it. would rather have the shop space. I needs to get fixed for real before next year. bah
-
I have a spot next to a WJ and a 49 Jeepster
-
i might take you up on that next week sometime. its just a pain to move right now with no clutch 2wd hi and 35's lol
-
yeah its not a problem... snow should be very much out of the way by then and its a strait shot down off a trailer ramp
-
threw this guys spair tire on the deck of the Ram earlier last night. ran to sunoco before home.
opened my storage door this morning as truck was warming up. went to grab tire..... and not there. surely it slid of the deck last night. searched both ways this morning quick. no luck.
crap.

First thing I'm gonna do it side swipe those puppies when i go past. ;)

fuel system
cooling system

paint cage up

-
Gears?
You plan on running stock rear axle?
-
have an 8.8 sitting out back for it. decided gears and axle swap will be last once its up and running. forgot that on the list
has 4.10's in the current axle
-
pulled the Clutch and petal assembly out on the bench and bled. had to remove the door to get to it with cage tube run in the way haha.
should be able to get it back in today, then start on cooling, fuel, wires.
-
got a clutch back
-
Nice!
-
finished up the air intake and did some wire clean up in cab. removed Airbag modules, bi passed inertia switch.
-
stock parts used just a little swapping around. im pretty happy with it.
-
That's what I had played around with when stripping the truck.
Looks like you took it a step further. Nice
-
ordered everything to move the battery, cooling system, electrical, and a few other odds n ends.
should be down the shocks after that
-
runs much better with 2 intake vac ports not open and EGR sense ports capped.
Code reader says its happy enough!
-
tonight she got to idle while i clipped wires. only had to restart 3 times and put wires back. Engine bay and Interior harness trimmed up and sealed.
-
Sweet.
-
parts came
radiator, Fan, steering cooler in
-
Looking good.
Getting close eh?
-
still have a lot of work to go, but goal was to get cooling system in it this week to rip it around this weekned and make sure the motor and mechanicals are good.
-
power steering cooler plumbed and bled
radiator 1/2 filled. need to get some non frozen water to the shop

Not BRO enough!
-
i got about 8 degrees of camber back in her. she is at full bro at ride :
front coolant overflow mounted and plumbed
rear diff draining.
battery relocation and maybe exhaust tomorrow.
-
Good thinking on the rock guard
-
Battery moved and mounted to rear
Master Disconnect wired
dash and gages in
rear diff welded and filled
-
Cowl looks great.
She ready for some hot laps?
-
probably needs a guard around the clutch slave so it doesnt blow off again.
some shocks would be nice, but ya ready to drive now.
Fuel system and exhaust, bolt the seat in tomorrow.
-
Limit straps and/or spring retainers too
Tapatalking in traffic
-
Ahh spring retainers. Add to my list also.
-
my springs are hosed clamped to the brackets for the time being. had to be going up and down on the lift

Found this in the trash. 17x7. 4.5bp
Bent and cracked. Yours if you want it
-
where is it cracked?
-
woke this little 4 banger right up!
egr blocked off
coolant and steering system bled

-
Love it.

How You gonna support exhaust from bumps

ill finish it up when the fenders are in

says not intended for racing and the inserts are only good for 5k cycles,so id guess they are shot after one race, wonder if you could chuck the foam and make poly inserts to last longer
-
Sure you want to spend that much on a bro? ;)
-
new insert set is 34$ i bet properly set up they will last a bit.

this weekend this thing was great. i drove it up to the drivers meeting and a couple times up to the porto johns and across the street.
the looks and comentary it got from line mt folk was worth the weekend.
Miller raced his. i think he got a half a lap and double rolled with the woman in it.
talked to him before the race and checked out his car. nothing more than ours, got some shock mount ideas and some other ideas.
-
Robbie said he looked over his shoulder to check for a rear flat and missed a corner, ditched it. sat upside down for an hour before he got someone to right him, and then it didn't want to start. lost all brake fluid too. fun times :-/
-
he must have started much earlier than us. i only saw him righted, they looked out and about of the car off to the side and ok.
-
shocks came in for this unit!
-
Nice
-
contrary to popular belief this thing will do a full standing 2 wheel smokey burn out with 4.10's and locked 35's 8)

Looks awesome. Just curious why you decided on that location for the reservoirs? I can see it getting damaged if another truck lands on you or you get in a rollover. I am not second guessing you, just want to learn. Would the red circle in the attached pic be a better location to protect the reservoirs?
(I know nothing about reservoirs, no idea if angles have to matter here)
-
Angles don’t matter. Air flow is good.
Tapatalking in traffic
-
i guess i hadn't really thought of a truck landing on me haha
ill be honest they just kinda got clamped there because the fox factory series letters were right side up haha
i had them flipped down when just the stud was welded on, but then they got flipped up after the outside bracker got made
-
could flip them under the tube
-
front shocks in
-
I think I heard that TJ springs are gonna be the hot ticket in the front of these to get a little more rate if needed. Not sure what you've got in there for your extra height.
-
ZJ v8 front coils..
-
leaving ranger coils as is for now. a lot of weight is removed from the truck, that should be good for at least an inch of ride.
changing coils is a massive amount of work, probably require hardware / control arm / trailing arm replacement lol
-
i remember trying tj springs...
didn't work so well...
-
id imagine the bottom end of the spring doesnt line up with the way the ranger springs retain
-
I changed the springs on mine. It was not bad. Just a retaining nut on the inside bottom of the spring.
-
mine looks like its ny welded together pretty good!
-
I looked on my computer for the wiring, its not here, My papers are in my trailer somewhere.
I had to trace the wires back with a continuity tester from a the pcm connector. It took a while to get it all figured out, I have it written down somewhere in my trailer.....
-
ok dont worry about it.
-
driver window net in
wires good for now
alternator isolated so disco works

testing went well today. steering, motor, and trans seem to not care being rapped. surprisingly fast. 2nd into it or 3rd half in you are moving 40-50 on 235 ats
did some rollers then build another jump. rolled it, then hit 2nd into it. Matt claims 5' air all 4 tires, the lip of the jump to impact was about 25'
took it like a champ.
shock tune fells GOOD
-
So bummed I missed the big air!
Glad to hear all is good.
She looks like a podium finisher fosho!
-
need to make a front skid so we dont drag 100lbs of sod along after a good nose dive
-
235s seem more reasonable... No 35s tried?
Tapatalking in traffic
-
ill have to change clutch master to a different style and remove the firewall bulk head connectors before the 35"s are able to be used.
-
front bumper tubed out
fire ext mounted for real
fuel cel drained, non ethanol rated foam removed, ton of shit removed from cell, re assembled with yellow ethanol foam
hod prop installed
fittings acquired for water in trailer
-
ready to load
legit spring retainers installed
helmet air pumper wired up and mounted.
cage gussets welded in
exhaust heat wrapped to protect front right shock
oil and filter change with lucas and 20w50
-
Thanks for the reminder.
I just bought oil yesterday. Forgot the lucas.
-
could not have asked for anything more out of this thing other than a set of tires.
motor was rapped for 15 minutes solid with no care. steering and shocks are great.
front beams are bent from multiple 6' air outs finished both heats fine.
the first heat was the most fun i have had in a truck in years. we were banging doors 3 wide in the air several times. send main was a shit show from over watering the track and pretty much a waste of time
-
still waiting for 572 IN prep parts so this thing might see the lift tomorrow.
going to sift though jeep springs in the scrap pile and shoot for a 3" front lift to get the bent beams back in camber spec and run the 35 SCRs. should fit great.
Looking at Willwood clutch master and re wire to loose fire wall bulkheads in driver front fenderwell
-
on my bronco 2 just used 2"square tube cut to height with a plate to hold spring on it.
-
i need a real spring to use all the travel i have for jumps
and you cant change the spring mounting geometry, only gusset and strengthen existing.
-
left outside in the rain status!
-
air up the tires on this thing and ripped around a couple laps on the Cartwright inn track. she is still good to go haha
-
gona try some TJ springs on this guy this weekend and get the 35's back on it, get the wheel out of the firewall and move some clutch parts!
-
Tj springs no good. 2" longer at free length, but rate way less. ride high was 2" lower
end up with i believe 4" lift xj springs out of the parts pile. ride bumped up 1.5", removed sway bar and picked up 3" of down travel
Camber back in check and 35"s mounted back. need to address bulkhead connector and clutch master. should be good to go!
-
entire harness gutted from truck
working on rewire.
still need a clutch solution to make room in the driver wheel well.
-
not much but bs on the forums with guys bagging trucks that have the same issue.
i ordered a willwod MC and petal assembly, should fit inside the fire wall fine. just need to adapt to whatever the Slave has....
-
re wire 100% complete and cleaned up.
I decided to set it up with a disconnect and a push button. nothing else bro style!
flip the disconnect on, hit the push start and its race ready!
-
SCRs throw sod like 20' and leave nice ruts
had to go patch up the lawn after the test lap holy tire man

-
That's kinda surprising
-
Ford choked the crap out of all the 80-90's motors. Add an intake, exhaust and if you're ambitious a better flowing exhaust port and they liven up tremendously.
-
i bet even just loosing the stock air box to a K&N style, and opening up the exhaust like i did is good for a good amount of power.
-
Yep. First rule of a fox body mustang- gut airbox.
-
boo.
took a pair of side cutters to the clutch MC line. was expecting thin wall to fit on a compression AN fitting i had. found super thick wall. stumped on how to get this thing mated to Willwood MC but i guess im committed now. Bah.
-
Would something like this work on the slave cylinder?
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-and-LT1-T56-Release-Bearing-to-AN3-Line-Fitting,25017.html?sku=5151396&utm_medium=CSEGoogle&utm_source=CSE&utm_campaign=CSEGOOGLE&catargetid=530009170000094869&cadevice=c&gclid=COKFybzq58cCFdKPHwodT_4DQQ
I know the rod master cylinder on my F350 had the same type of end but not sure on the slave end of things.
I think I may have the fitting still. I ended up piecing the dodge line to the ford mc.
-
yes, that is the type that i would have needed before i cut the line. would have been best to do it that way, because a second fitting was provided that matches up to that on the willwood MC

practice went well. took anything i could do on the jumps fine.
Bent up steering on prelim but finished.
Fixed for main, limped off for main from electric failure. Alt must not be charging. next day was fine after a bit on the charger. boo.

She looked good on the jumps.
But front end didn't appear happy about the big tires mid air!

truck felt awesome in practice jumps and for 3 laps i was keeping same pace with your truck erik.
I like the gears and tires, they have ton of traction and keep me in first. seems like everyone else was tacking out in 1st and bogging in 2nd most of the track.
-
havent found another set of tires, meh
new steering parts and alternator charge issue on the list along with a bath and bedsides mount/paint.
-
Your alternator not charging either?
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
-
it was fine first race, but since the rewire, i think something got unhooked- loss of power took me out of last race.
-
Could be a dying battery issue.
Mine lost power as the race went on. And it was on charge all morning.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
-
if it was that rather than the battery it wouldnt have died. def no charging, and its been fine since it was built up till the rewire process.
-
sodus run took a chunk out of tonight's progress. got the XJ unloaded, RAM extensions broke down, RAM fueled, Enclosed hooked, brolite revived and pulled into the shop.
started eyeing up bed sides. think its gona work great.

new steering linkages installed
alternator charge issue fixed- didnt have the activation wire hooked up

need to step up our game this year and beat Miller
summit order placed for next round of upgrades.
explorer springs, steering quickener, rear pannel mirror
plan to change front coil mount supports and shock locations.
im thinking my FOX 2.5 12" CO's on the front of 572 are going to make it to the brolite, and run the new profender16's i have on the rear. ill have my fox shocks on the bro to sell, or build another 12,14's 2.0 smoothies
-
Mike,
While i'm thinking about it, do you know anyone looking for a 8.8 out of a ranger (drum brakes unfortunately), he also has a set a 4.56 gears to go with it the have had the backside machined (lightened, top outer edge).
These were extras for a friends asphalt circle track mustang, he was looking for $200 for everything.
-
I have a disk 8.8 sitting out back and almost pulled the trigger on some gears, but my 7.5 with 4.10's i cant seem to break landing under full power with 35"s welded

new front springs, quickener, wheel and some other bits showed up today
Fleet explorer springs look beef, hope the ride height is near desirable.

i found a post on the ranger forums that exporer coils give you about 1.5" lift and a stiff ride on a 2wd ranger.
they were 66$ from summit for Moog Cargo Control springs.
they are thick and stuff lol hope they will slow my crash though problem on BIG jumps

ordered willwood brakes and a tire groover for this thing. probably roll into the shop this week and start bro prep while waiting for 572 shocks.

Talked with a mini stock racer from west coast. They run bone stock front suspension. It's all in the shocks he said.

cool
the wilwood is the get the booster out of the way. I already moved the clutch. our rules suck that you have to use the factory lower shock mountlocation
-
took a step in the wrong direction, lost almost 4" of down wheel travel with the heavier springs.
thinking lift jeep springs are the way to go.
before swapping out springs, my shocks were my down travel limit in front. I think the jeep lift springs need to go back in and my shocks need to be lowered 2-3" or more.....
-
4" xj coils put back in
front shocks lowered 2.5" for more usable down travel
1.5:1 steering quickener and quick disconnect wheel installed
new snow tires mounted. couldn't come up with a grooving plan, might just leave them.
-
New pump, new reservoir, new pulley, new belt, high pressure hose, low pressure hose, cooler deleted.
radiator topped off, oil filled.
needs a battery now also.
-
changed out bad ball joints, tightened up both wheel bearings, swapped springs in front for 4' TJ coils, grooved front tires.
need to groove rears, and get a battery then race ready.
-
No fire damage?
-
fire damage was limited to power steering pump, pulley, belt, hoses. not too bad. all replaced.
-
How were the ball joints to do?
I thought there was something wrong with the 4" tj coils? They sure seemed to work on Eric's truck.
Tapatalking in traffic
-
ball joints easy because you can remove caliper and leave on truck, break free upper and lower, and steering TRE, then move the unit to bench to RxR them. not bad at all.
-
nice.

i dont know really which coils these are, they are the 3rd set. seem to give the most travel and bumped up the ride hight a little. i also set the castor/camber back to zero/zero so its looks much better.

performed good this weekend.
Won heat race with only 2/6 of us left :/
land rush start after first turn put me in 2nd. lost front right tire on 1st or 2nd lap that imobilized truck on hill climb. boo.
have to add tire pressure check to race prep. didnt kill the tire just folded off outer bead.
Truck 100% still.
needs more compression front, but over all happy with truck.

fully getting it on a 30' table top with a 6' harsh lip!
-
opened hood on this today, looks like clanking is passenger coil on shock. will leverage driveer side hack fix and tip back upper shock mount a bit with a hole and bolt. needs a PS top off, rad check good. need to patch and mount a tire.
-
prepped for Monson
-
major service on this unit tonight!
the grinding dragging sound i was expecting to find as rear brakes exploded was found to be a drive shaft carrier bearing. pulled to measure since zone listed 4 differed ID sizes and found one instock at penfield out by Matts new house. quick visit and pickup, back in and all good.
also got an oil and filter change, chassis fuel filter change
power steering res fix #4.
popped a rear brake line pulling into the shop this after noon, also replaced that. jug of coolant will be added to a fushed radiator after this weekend.
-
winter service, fresh gallon of coolan exchanged for a gallon of mud water from radiator and run for 10 min
-
2 year slumber- charged battery over night, cranked and then needed a break.
cranked again this afternoon with a shot of brake clean and she fired right to life. should just need fuel and air.
-
fuel drained and flushed with clean 94, new fuel filter.
fluids checked, tires aired up, front windsheild screen mesh removed, wheel spacers put back on, washed
ready for seasonal beating.
the new track layout behind the shop is much nicer for brolites :)
-
this unit peformed well today. need to get my 15" wheels back on the front though. too much plowing at Attica track for me.
over all a good day of fun racing though after the sun dried out some wet spots.
Will and i were racing hard and his truck popped out of gear mid air, i wacked him pretty good but all is well.
Mike had a temporary alternator issue that got resolved, and at the end of the day will lost his clutch driving back to the trailers.
these things are too much fun. mine is put away dirty and could use a new hood. or not.
-
man! that was a lot of power washing! 2 tanks of gas and about 2.5 hours
cleaner than it has ever been!
-
I didn’t empty one tank. But knocked a bunch off first and it saw some hose first too.
Ready to fix my radiator exposure once the seat dries out fully
-
mid air crash into Will at Attica damage fixed
Hood zip tied repaired
broken fan clips replaced
cracked tubes welded
right front shock res mounted back to chassis
read for June5th
-
new steering pump
new maf housing (rock punched a hole in it)
new belt
air filter mount upgraded.
might finally need a new battery. not cooperating but giving it one more over night charge try.
-
not 100% sure my motor isnt hurt. got some neat noises ripping around my track. probably fine :o
really happy with my new track layout out back, its pretty fun haha. need to add a jump on the back straight.
-
Shoulda kept the spare truck!
-
yup, i knew it as soon as i sold the motor i should have kept it. o well.
-
lead 6? laps and cooling fan failed. loss power and mike and jeff went around me.
Bah.
-
new drive shaft carrier bearing installed
2 new fuel filters
new fuel lines
new fuel
air pumper glue drying, was found broken from mount and flopping around.
hope that fixes the sputter yesterday
-
my truck decided it wanted a gravel box for a steering pump when i moved it today. has to be the 5th pump its getting in 50 gals of fuel. so stupid.
-
My fix to put a Jeep TC pump on looks better with every failure on another truck.
Not that it’s been on for THAT long, but still twice the life of pumps on your truck
-
update, its not the pump this time (possibly). the new pulley i put on last time is now a clearance fit to the shaft, and just spins and slides on....
-
i have like 3 XJ pumps laying around that may be an option. i did notice the shaft sizes are different size when i grabbed one to see if a pully swap would fix it
-
I don't remember if I had to buy a pulley to run or if I had a Jeep one around. I modified the existing bracket to take the TC pump, was pretty easy. the plumbing and making a resi fit were the hard part.
-
no local white box show stock of both in same place, actually not much stock anywhere for pumps or pullies.
dont feel like driving to Irondequoit tonight so amazon will bring both Thursday, cheaper, and no core.
might grab a second pulley and see if my pump is hosed tomorrow, then just have spare stuff for the trailer.
-
new pulley pressed on hard and good, steering back to working. the new pulley was .009" smaller diameter than the one that fell off.
at the track it would have gotten welded to the pump haha
new tire grover came in today, grooved tire. ready to load tomorrow as planned.
-
swapped in an 8.8 today, relatively painless.
need to remember to gut the ebrake from the right side when i get ahold of a mini spool.
was supose to be a 4.10 but its a 3.55 booo
investigated no power steering, found cracked power steering gear, awesome.
-
need to grab a rear brake tee line and check spline count for mini spool
-
think the cracked gear is from the same hit that broke the axle?
-
dont think so but who knows i started the 4th race with steering and got hit mid first lap sadly.
-
new steering box and spool ordered. didnt have time to check, hope its 31spline
-
rear axle mini spool and rear axle brake lines installed/ bled. 8.8 swap done.
cut old pitman arm off after 1hour of failed struggle to remove, then installed it 180degrees off on the new box >:(
left this pile on the lift in hate.
needs a ball joint also.
