And then figure out how to make the starter spin the right way when I have to switch to positive ground to use it.

Hmm, I guess many motors including starter motors “just work”

Anyone have one laying around? I don’t. Mock up and mounting will surely be fun.

and i would guess that starter motors wont have the voltage regulation magic you want internally, or a pulley interface...

Are you "positive" it's positive ground? Chevys were negative ground and GMC were positive...

I need to make an easy top of mast hook for picking oversize things. This was too many attempts before success. Or long fork extensions but I know which one is 10-20x the cost of the other.

How much can this thing lift?  I have a large delivery coming to the farm in a few weeks and need to be able to lift about 2000lb's off of a tractor trailer.  I know it is to much for my tractor and also may be too much for my bro-n-laws also so I am looking for alternatives.

wouldn't start last week, DUMPING fuel from carb. float sunk or needle and seat contaminated/rotted. need to remove and investigate.

i added a 3$ fuel shut off valve to mine the first time it did that and i had to pull the plugs to clear the lock

I guess that’s one upside of an updraft carburetor. They can’t Hydro lock from fuel leakage
