stumbled across a Chevy adapter for a LR Series gearbox
wont handle a small block.. but a 235/250 would be serviceable..
no irons in the fire.. just curious...

HAHAHA
I just got some much enjoyment watching you play with points instead of PCMs and carbs instead of FI...
Deff interested in the motor.. don't scrap that guy..
if the bell housing fits.. this could get interesting.
-
wont be scrapped, but it is listed for sale. have a few hits already. of course nothing solid- will let you know
-
i think im looking again for this..
-
have the one in my '50
needs work. not locked up but no compression in a couple holes; had bent pushrods.
still in the frame and under the cab; pushrods and rockers are removed and that's how it's resting.
I think there was guesses in my thread on which engine it is, but I believe it was at least confirmed as not to be original to a '50 truck.
-
just took a deposit on the 235 in one of my trucks that i drove where it sits sorry.
have another block, but id suspect its junk and unknown worse than mikes trouble

i think im looking for a 250..
is it the stroke thats different or bore size..
-
250 is way way newer. I had to look it up, I knew that wasn't one I was thinking mine might be. This says stroke is the difference.

mine is likely a 235, choices being 216, 235 or 261.
