Title: paint my barn
Post by: M4wdFab on August 18, 2023, 08:47:05 AM
considering doing this

got a quote for 2800 to do it when i moved in 4 years ago.

got a quote last week for 5500 to do it   :o

not finding many choices or availablity in bulk.

Math says about 12500sq ft for roof/siding

350 sq ft / gal claimed coverage, about (8) 5 gallon buckets id start with or a 55gal drum if i could find it

1100$ in materials ish
i think i could do the roof in a half day and the sides in a day without equipment failures

I was gonna say that's a really optomistic coverage rate. top of my head interior paint at around 100-125sqft/gal so 350 seemed way off. 350/5gal I'd be confident of single coat and durable at least. but that's.... a lot of paint.
