Scangauge II
« on: April 27, 2024, 01:40:36 PM »
Anyone want? I found a phone app that gives me more options than the scangauge does, so it's going back.

I've been looking, not hard at all, for trans temp on my Ram.  When I looked into it a while back, I guess Ram doesn't like to share their data without paying fee's and I couldn't find a phone app that did.

It doesn't say it doesn't work...

TFT Transmission Fluid Temperature
Not all vehicles report TFT. In some cases where TFT is not reported, you may be able to implement this gauge through the X-GAUGE programmable gauge system. Check online at www.ScanGauge.com/support for your specific vehicle.

2003
WORKS ON ALL
Jeep Liberty with the diesel engine does not report fuel use or trip functions and some of the gauges. Unless the recall ECU software update has been completed.

There are a few bmw XGauges listed for engine oil temp, but it wouldn’t give it up to the scangauge. No issues reporting it via OBD dongle to my phone over Bluetooth.

I had to add a trans temp sensor on my manual transmission ram, but auto trucks may know that info. Worth a shot.

If you want to give it a shot, I’m game!
If it doesn’t work we can see if OBD-II would pull it.

If I get out at a decent time, I could swing your way after work
