- passenger ball joints done, that was a bit of a bitch, should have brought the knuckle to a press.
- springs out, radius arms 3/4 of the way out.
- 3 new radius arms prepped for 1/2" bolts. All gave me the same trouble drilling at the weld as the ones in the truck now did, I wonder if the arm might be hardened steel and the pin of the shock stud that goes through to be welded is closer to 7/16? That wouldn't make sense since the base of the stud doesn't fall off after drilling to 1/2" though. I had to open up the back side with a burr, could not drill. Need to sharpen half a dozen drill bits now...
- 2 radius arms are set for double shear and just need paint.
- restocked bolt bins
- did a minute of lathe work on a steering coupler and picked up shocks
- cut out more rotted rust from bottom of front clip. new qty of front body mounts: 0
needs:
- rewire everything from the stock ignition switch
- remove column, mounts; mount quickener, extend steering shaft, weld quick release
- rock sheild for radiator
- permanently wire and mount shift light
- install seat
- grab parts from Arie
- R&R steering box. my puller doesn't clear the box, I might just cut the casting to get clearance for the puller to grab the pitman arm unless someone has a better idea
- R steering pump
- change up rear shock mounts to 1/2" double shear & install shocks
planning to take WRF of this week off.
