Locker in back will tend to oversteer but I would say is much more predictable and finessable.

This is exactly how I felt when I first experienced my rear locker and winter driving. If the locker stays, the best thing to do would be to go to an empty parking lot when the snow starts falling and get a feel for how it's going to handle in 2 wheel drive. It always amazed me how predictable the whole vehicle felt after I got it, also controlled power slides are always fun. In 4 wheel drive, I don't even really notice the locker in the snow, it just stays planted.

I left my front aussie in over the winter. It may have been a mistake as I was more reluctant to use 4wd in traffic. I did find that I had to be much gentler with the throttle if turning in 4wd. I would do it again though. Straight line starts were much better and I had no "up hill fish tail" even when the front were not getting much traction.

No experience with the rear being aussied. Yet.

Gap is .173, instructions say it should be between .145-.170

How can I bring that in? Both thrust washers are in.

Bill would say 173 is fine.  Are there flat marks on the crospin from the locker? Does the cross pin rattle around in the case or tight fit?

Cross pin felt tight, might try to get some thicker thrust washers and new cross pin and try again at some point. Threw the spiders back for now with the aim to get it driveable soonish.

Needs shorter rear shocks, new exhaust installed, fenders trimmed. I drove it to work today. Drives pretty nice.

Getting Rausch ready for September! Harry fought with the transfer case skid plate but finally got it on. It was running hot on the highway a few weeks ago well over 210 so we put a new radiator in, mixed up some new 50/50 antifreeze/water, and took out the ac condenser which was super crusty and was probably blocking a lot of cool air. Electric fan was also barely working so we replaced that with a new used fan. Drove it on the highway last night and it stayed cool at 190.  Now trying to decide if we should drive it to rausch or tow it with Harry's new truck!

All that's left now to donate bump stops and  recovery points. We have two for the front, but not sure what's happening in the back yet. Trying to convince Harry that we can build a rear bumper before rausch, not sure if that's happening yet.

Drove jeep to work finally. Did great at 70 mph! Brake pedal is a little sticky.

Co-workers think I'm cool, boss thinks I'm nuts. I was telling her about my jeep a few weeks ago and she was like, "oh so you have one of those trucks when I see it in a parking lot I think to myself why on earth would anyone ever have something like that"

Got my recovery points on yesterday! Got two in the front and one in the rear under the bumper. When the bumper gets bad then we'll build a new one. All that's left before Rausch is bump stops and to secure driver seat since the bracket is broken, and make sure the back isn't rubbing since we only trimmed the front.
