Title: front 14 bolt build
Post by: M4wdFab on September 02, 2015, 09:45:43 PM
its time with only one more 5.38 gear set on the shelf.  not going to buy another 60 set.  no 70 set available so 14 time.

i have looked at drop out options. cost is high.  i dont see a need for anything more than a stock center section.

Hopping Cora can broach a couple 14's with 35spline 60 holes and keep the RCVs for now.

spin up a set of seal boars, new solid C's, swap everything and truss up an axle with tabs.

for 500$ and a weekend i should be in.

Running backwards, I wonder if you will have better luck than with 60 stuff or not.

I think pinion offset from axle centerline is different, you're not too tight on clearance up front though, that should be fine.

I just wonder how much of an upgrade it really will be. Shame no 70 sets around, I really think that would be a better option.

5.38 gears are not an option for D70.  D70 spools are also about 600$

My 14 running backwards in the rear could give a crap about anything i have done to it.  its was run in 571 for 3 years before 572 also.
