bed is falling apart. if I took the tailgate off the passenger side would vacate, or at least eat tire, in a couple hundred rough road miles.
thinking about making vs buying vs stock replacement. I don't love the idea of kissing bed sides and starting the structural damage all over again.
found this localish.

I like the price on this a LOT better and it would need no mods and no paint - but it's not perfect either. I guess nothing is
http://www.competitiondiesel.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143701&highlight=bedearlier today TSC has 25% off all truck boxes but that seems to have quit already. I laid out some stuff but even at 25% off it'd be pretty expensive for what I want - plus the steel to build the flatbed to mount them to. With the discount it still would have been a grand in boxes, and I'd have been tipping some underbody boxees on their sides, so may need gutter modification. Not really ideal.
Hoping I can just score a good bed cheap. I think that Herrin is too expensive for not exactly what I want, in the wrong color, maybe needing mounting changes, and needing fuel door modification. OTOH it's local and easy.
