possible tire source (yes I know how heavy they are)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-4-Michelin-XZL-8-25-R16-/182174882085?hash=item2a6a781925:g:HbMAAOSwzJ5XZJzJ&vxp=mtr

having dug into things, I think the offset rear of a quadratrac jeep would be good - I can place the engine to minimize side to side driveline angle.

looks like I may have to mix n match to get
- 2.72
- quadratrack offset
- narrow track

It appears that the QT do come narrow but have mainly (only?) 3.54s

Not unreasonable with a boarder crossing. Or just spend a day driving up & back with a stop for fun of some sort in Toronto.

Plus if you drive up, you'd probably get the chance to select the tires you want, pull all 70% tread ones instead of 50%

REF:
amc 20 carrier break 2.73/307
dana 30 carrier break 3.54/3.73

I think I've found what I need, mix n match - but I'd rather get shit from you guys if you don't want to sit on it so any specifics would be great.

Guy near Rausch has a disk brake d30 2.73 narrow track asking $400, no calipers. figure I'll offer 2?
same guy is asking 350 for a complete wide track 2.73 20.

Buffalo dude is asking a grand for a quadratrack 20, figure I'll offer him a hundred bucks while trying not to laugh in his face and see where that goes, then swap gears to match?

I'm seeing gears and carriers for 20s for around 125ea regardless of ratio, so probably even money and less work to swap gears and resell 3.54s and a carrier than swap into another axle.

current motor needs rebuild, current trans useless. hence: delete everything and start over.

CJ narrow track with 2.73s are the only good option I've found. target wms-wms ~50"

not quadratrack rear not 2.73.

have located what I need - just need to go down to Rausch Creek area and get them.

I also picked up some roller wheels & tires today. I'll be doing some router and hand drill precision machine work on them to open the center bore and drill the right pattern, but for rollers & test fit for tire clearance it couldn't be beat for his asking price ($120) - much less when he offered them to me for $40 when I got there. Makes up for the toolbox guy haha

I figure I can make a template out of a front rotor pretty easily and make them fit in less than an hour a piece. bald 265/70r17 on horribly corroded alloys off an f150.
