I just remembered this is a 4x4.
That makes it way more annoying.
Also things I just remembered: there's a club member with a lift that can lift this unit.
- lift & remove both driveshafts, break all fasteners free, pull most/all trans to block bolts, remove clutch hydraulics
- lower, remove crossmember, support trans and tcase on my bigass trans jack
- lift truck away from trans, then swap clutch bits
- installation is reverse of removal.
I've done this 2x on the ground and it didn't killed me. it's really not bad at all.
call South Bend, talk with them about your use and future power plans, and they'll probably suggest the same hybrid ceramic/organic I have with upgraded hydraulics.
My invoice from the replacement shows SDD3250-g 2005.5-2009 G56 550-650hp 1200tq
Not sure what changed in 2010, hopefully not a big deal.
