48' over all
40' deck
tripple 7k torsion
2007 United
zeibart sprayed / fully undercoated
finished walls/ ceiling. has some interesting art work and flags up
red floor!
12V switched interior lights
back up lights
RV lock and deadbolt on door
48" door, and extra tall door i dont hit my head on.
rear door seems HD with nice latch cam locks
1 center roof vent
1 piece aluminum roof
exterior and interior seems flawless, i could only find a ding on one of the fenders.
has lots of decals "wing transport" that were removed
reciepts for a new front axle they had put in when they bought it to replace a bent axle, no other tire or axle issues.
cam spring loaded landing gear
nice goose coupler
LED lights
Tapered Nose
8100lbs on the title
new spare
8 or 10 motor cycle brackets that cam to brackets on the floor
(12) 5k tie downs spread on floor
a bunch more less HD tie downs
Seems much nicer than i was expecting- probably use new tires, the rears look to have some dry rot
-
Nice find.
-
she's a big girl!

Apparently, I should be the new owner. It has my name on it... 8)

Nice score!

That's a nice looking trailer.

finding 17.5's with a higher speed rating than J (62MPH) may be cost prohibitive

LPG cook top 3 burner ordered
8 new ratchet straps ordered

this would be sick!
didnt know they were that spendy though lol
http://www.racingjunk.com/Trailer-Parts/182347059/Awning-Canopy-From-48-Enclosed.html
-
Thats a lot of material!
-
They can be very expensive.
And that style is a 2-3 man job to assemble.
10 x 20 ez up per car would be alot simpler IMO.
-
Offered to Harry first, but if he declines, I have a 16' roll out canopy for $200...
-
Don't sell the rear one mark. ;)
-
This is a different one I had purchased for the BBB...
-
572 fits nice, tons of room in front and tons of room behind!
-
U need a golf cart! ;)
-
i was debating keeping LQ stuff up front to the driver side, so a quad or cart or pit bike could be put up front... to the right in tow
-
8 new ratchet straps came in and an LP cook top
-
started with some ideas today. i think i have a plan. I think im going to wish i was a better Finish carpenter, but im going to try any make it not destroy the existing walls and such of the trailer so if it needs to be removed for sale, it wont devalue the trailer too much.
Have to look at roof vent sealing for black tank.
probably get some supplies this weekend and start mocking out the walls.
trying to decided if i should buy a shower pan or just bend up one out of aluminum

adjusted hitch for 4500, trailer leveled out with front dripped down 2 bolt holes on hitch

pic you posted last night makes that thing look biiiiig - and awesome.
very impressive rig.
-
hoping tires are fine for this weekend- havent gotten the chance to spec big boy rubber / wheels yet.
-
prepped and half packed. going to be missing a bench and LQ's
bed and most of gear in. packing light!
all interior lights and back door work lights work!
-
17$ to transfer a plate to this
another 42$ if i want a title
;D
-
picked up materials to build out the front frame work. got all the parts on the floor.
the waste tank i got is not going to work unless it goes under the trailer. boo. have to put shitter flange in a different spot (not sure if possible) or get new tank, or really re think the floor plan to something wacky with Toilet in the middle of the trailer with 1 partial floor support beam cut. Boo.
-
other option would be put 9" deep tank below trailer frame, but that only gives me 6" ground clearance.
-
i guess one of these to move the hole would do it

Miriam is on the case! via web chat :o
-
camping world parts called me and she actually has one in stock. looks like a trip east tonight after work!
-
I would say you could use a basement ejector toilet and pump it to a tank anywhere on the trailer bit man, they are like a $1k
-

i looked around, couldnt find anything i liked. decided to canobilize one of my military boxes and use it. want to knock out this thing this weekend. Ran to camping world and picked up the toilet gromet to move the location. grabbed two lengths of PVC on the way home. have sewer elbows left from version 1 of 572 air intake.
Got a plan and most things placed. got one wall framed up. Tomorrow will be commit day drilling 4" hole through trailer floor, and plazma some holes in beams to bring the dump valve up front.
looking good. so far.
-
toilet mounted, sink and cook top in, main counter top in, started on wall board / trim last night. looking pretty good.
-
noticed the other day a fail in my design, erik probabably would have though about.
the trim board im using apparently does not lik temerature changed. installed when it was cold, now that its warm everything is buckled and looks like crap. not sure solution. glue or more screws?
-
isnt there a actual trim peice for the edges of it like a piece of j channel that allows for expansion and contration without fastners
-
What is the material?
-
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Unbranded-Thrifty-White-32-sq-ft-Hardboard-Panel-Board-709106/202090193
ya i have trim and corner pieces, but not really going to help here
-
MDF doesn't typically have the same expansion and contraction characteristics that wood has.
What are you attaching the sheets to? Wood studs or Steel trailer studs? If it's attached to wood studs it could be an issue of the studs drying out?
Would really need to see it.
I used the same product in my motorcycle race trailer when I finished out the living quaters.
Don't remember any issues screwing to both wood and steel studs throughout the different seasons.
-
its wood studs.
expansion is like 1/2" in 3 places over 4', i doubt the studs moved that much. the aluminum counter top i glued on is fine also.
-
Strange.
Hard to speculate with out seeing it.
-
brolite and buggy fit snug and hauls nice.
need to finish plumbing and bath. was super nice having a counter and cook top area. going to work great!
-
nice setup fo sho!
-
lost left blinker from half trip there and back. same side KOH trip blew fuse. fuse checked good.
unsure of cause. will check out when pig tail gets changed and longer.

That sounds very cool!
Would be interested in details, the 5gal in the popup failed pressure test. Not sure where it popped, but it’s toast somewhere.

-
i was down to two in my cart. opted for the more spendy one that had a 5yr warranty, no shut of timer, and a flow switch as opposed to a pressure switch for htr enable.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/261845674876
i got the smaller unit than gif i believe

Thanks. Seems cool, not sure I have the height in the popup. I’ll have to check it out.

In the zero time i have this week id like to get my RV toilet and cold water hooked up at a minimum this week.
last night before dark i mounted the waste dump valve and scrounged up some parts from the emergency shop heater off 20lb propane tank for the cook top. works awesome!
water pump, hoses, clamps in hand. need to stop at lowes to grab whatever talks to a sink and toilet fixture.
-
Looked real good mike.
Nice set up.
Definitely keep in mind the fresh water drain for winter.
I'd run aluminum angle for all the door openings and that should take care of the wall board issues
-
took a hole saw to my 48' single piece roof :-[
now have fully functioning toilet, cold water to sink, and propane cook top. vents and plumbing finished up, 12 battery mounted, LP tank mounted.
Next phase for next trip will be hot water addition and shower installed, and walls finished. then storage and cabinet doors ect.
-
Nice.
Toilet will be nice.
You'll never be able to go back now that you are entering the dark side.

ya buddy!

have to call about lug / hub centric status
since i changed 4 tires on this thing this weekend, noted it has 9/16" studs, and a big hub bore that could be used for hub centric easily.

just called the wheel place, the 19.5 singles are lug centric with a 60 degree cone machined in them- guy actually picked up phone new everything i needed to know lol
-
rolling on dumpster tires this weekend! whoooooo!
-
getting back to your roots!
-
no tires issues this weekend rolling with one car. have too look at fuel receipts but looks like 9mpg at 66mph
19.5 wheels ordered, just confirmed shipment via phone. should be Fedex freight later this week. plan to service bearings with wheel swap.
man it is nice with running water and a flushing toilet! cook top works great to! i have used like 2" of water in my 40 gallon tank that was half full. going to try and finish the hot water, shower, and walls for IN trip, but might be a stretch.

damn man, get a mattress.
I bought Queen size of this mattress for my guest room. I was IMPRESSED how good the mattress was for the price.

very impressed and they look like a high quality and finish wheel. Bolt through valve stems included.

8 used tires on my truck rolling out within the hour mike. Sorry so slow, covering for 3 people this week. If any have any leaks or issues let me know, I'll snag some more. Not the most meat I've had on a set of used, but at least 4-5 useable 32" before wear bars are hit.

No issues with new tires on way down. Need to take 1/4 turn out of both sides fronhubst axle running hubs.
-
was miles from loosing one of these new wheels.
Made a mental note to check lugs at some point and forgot. had two spindle nuts that were a bit tight and warm, that i losened in IN.
Found 2 studs gone and loose lugs on one tire. Checked all and most took 3/4 of a turn to snug up.
oooops. Will replace all studs on loose one, and make sure they get checked again in 100 miles.
-
New/reconditioned wheels seem to be the most tempremenal with lug nuts. We include a line on all our invoices to check them but don't emphasize it enough in my opinion. We've had more than a couple customers call complaining that they had some loosen and blamed us.
-
i know better
completely my own fault here. glad i got lucky
-
did some research this morning and determined that 14bolt wheel studs we used in the buggies are very similar to what dexter runs.
pulled hub and changed out 3 studs. should be good to go. knurl was a little loose but worst case if they spin there is pleanty of room to grab then cut. Ill order 8 new ones for next time.
-
I bought one 9/16 stud for my hubs. Need to see what I can match it up to and drill out my hubs when they are off for axle replacement.

NEAT
so i got a letter today from the 19.5 wheel company. said they have identified a manufacturing error on the batch of wheels i recieved that failed SAE testing for holding lug nut torque. They want me to check lug torque every 300 miles, and within 45 days they will contact me to replace the wheels.
maybe it wasnt my fault ha
-
well I'll be damned.
-
Nice!
-
Trying to identify window locations.
id like a cross breeze up near sleeping, but weary of water problems if i put them on the sides of the taper nose.
have have (2) 24x30 sliders with screens and interior trim rings
-
I assume 24 is width?
Might be too wide but rain guards from rear door on a crew cab pickup work well for keeping most of the rain out.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk

actually i just checked they are 24" wide x 22" tall
-
Sounds like you'll be cutting studs and welding in headers and sills. What's yours stud spacing? 16 o/c
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
-
16" up to the goose attic, 12" over the goose.
i was doing some reading- the pro way is to pull interior pannels and weld in headers before you cut the skin. not sure my plan. i was hoping to cut a hole and take in or screw in some headers slid into the hole and up.
-
Either way... Geocel sealant is your firend. (don't buy cheap shit from HF) A Quality/ Flexible sealant is the only thing you should use.

successful first dump station visit.
Exit 5 on 390 the small TA has an RV spot. a little tight to get the truck in, but was able to do the deed and pull through around the pumps and out.
bought the supper hose with caps, and also got a jet thing that hooks to water supply and waste hose screws to flush out. worked awesome. no mess no smell.
man i could see the horror that could occur with an error. that 4" flow has some serous mass and volume when you pull that valve and dump a 42 gallon tank. wow.
-
shower was great too this weekend. need to add the on demand heater!
-
looks like this week still should be good for water lines. should be last use before KOH
-
Trailer waste tank emptied, waste valve changed and relocated
trailer bearings inspected, lubed, lugs and air checked- good for KOH travel
water tank emptied, all filled and purged with RV anti freeze minus shower run. Plan to do hot water tank install this week.
-

no zero degree trailer prep this year!
-
That's always the plan, hopefully nothing unforeseen this year.
-
loading and strapping after the party and rolling as planned!
-
finished up winter prep, and grabbed 2 more jugs of RV anti freeze to do it again when we are ready to leave the lake bed
still need to add in hot water heater, but that can be 95% done and then just cut in and connected.

Might want to look into heat pads for the tanks.
Simple install.
Would be some added safety factor for cold nights in the desert

Looks like i just beat the cold temps with the winter prep!
-
snuck in some saturday cleaning and packing with the nice weather. looks like winter out here and glad i did.
ready to head WEST....
-
picked up some power and air for the trailer today
-
over KOH, my honda crapped out after 4 hours of run time. it would not run without the choke on and then finally started to loose power and shut down.
One of the nights i finally had some time drained and totally disassembled the Carb and brake cleaned everything. Found no issues, all looked brand new and clear. reassembled and it was fine for the week. must have gotten a grain of sand in it.
New trailer heater was good. Honda is kinda loud to run a heater- had ear plugs in all week though from wind noise on the lake bed.
Trailer is not sand proof everything is sandy.
Water line used for hot water not rated for hot- had to swap to trans cooler line and took two repairs to get it working ok. Need a mixer valve at the shower head. Too hard to find a happy place between luke warm / cold and burning hot
-
replumbed shower line and made new head. trailer de sand if fied and sleeping area mopped out.
trailer 90% packed minus matts car and food / clothes.
water system flushed and filled.
-
wow ebay sellar and USPS win
ordered Saturday morning RV pump on EBAY, said it shipped Sat at 5pm, USPS says it was delivered this morning from IL
not bad!
-
new water pump installed last weekend at Rolling W.
Hot shower was nice.
Upgraded the toolbox in this unit since on the way home it came unstrapped and fell over. tweeked both upper and lower tool boxes, took out a fire extinguisher, and broke off the pumper nipple on my helmet :( transfered over everything to the new box last night.
-
Not fun!
-
husky boxes are not tip over and roll around trailer proof!
this one i left the wheels off and it will be bolted to the wall / floor, or strapped with side brackets that wont tweak the top when tight like the last one. boo.
-
just under 2k for 6 wheel disk brakes, bearings, minus line hardware.
-
Sounds about right. Don’t. Miss the 9/16 wheel stud option
Tapatalking in traffic
-
im not sure the brakes annoy me enough to spend that. Def would be nice. I think this trailer is a keeper for a few more years than my usual ryan expectancy though. the 4500 brakes really do work compared to a 3/4 or 1 ton though
-
had to cut 4" off the back of the ranger to fit in the trailer with new tool box. only bedsides!
-
broken vent finally changed, new tool box secured. Fueled and hooked for this weekneds race.

look right mike?
you basically make your axles idler axles, and put rotors and calipers on them?
-
looks better than what I have. the non-integrated hub/rotor wasn't a thing or wasn't popular so I have integrated hubs and rotors just like the drums.
that looks like it should be complete minus lines.
FWIW I went with the Dexter actuator and it's been solid. no hydrostar experience.
-
OK ill check that out.
ya i was thinking just running mostly hardline, with short softs like our buggies have. My pump ill mount inside the trailer, so i think the cheaper non marine one is ok.

need to fix a small propane leak- copper compression stuff just not trailer worthy and getting beatup

amen.
I got as far as changing into work clothes and going outside. Then I decided I didn't want to deal with the rain and/or trying to work on the Bro in the trailer.

ya i am sure there are 10 or more ways to fix my issue, all of which i have not completed. looking like trailer upgrades will wait till next spring.

6 hubs repacked and checked
entire cargo area of trailer stripped, purged, cleaned, and reorganized. need to grab more clear totes from lowes.

that center driver Michelin finally let go 3/4s of the way to NH this weekend. it put up a good fight for the last 10K sweet blue smoke rooster and it was so hot had to get gloves to get it off the hub. about an 8 minute tire change not bad.
trailer continues to do work. many of the screws inside and out continue to be found loose or falling out. not sure solution with out massive labor intensive operations.

get the nice RV fill and vent too for external fill

Mike dropped of a 225 for me- i noticed its an F at 36XX lbs. my Gs are all 39XX lbs rating.
looked at my last scale ticket and it was 21050 on the trailer pad :o
i am thinking i should stick to Gs lol

I don't know what's on my trailer, but all my loose tires were LR F
-
What's the situation with water fill ports for these things? I am seeing city fill ports and gravity fill ports. Some with vents, some with check valves.
I just want garden hose thread into the tank and I am thinking there needs to be some kind of vent for both filling and using water. Not sure if I would ever really need a check valve.

you want gravity fill with vent

no garden hose thread just jam it in to fill. i found one that had the same 1.25" fill and got clear hose in between tank and fill
-
Does water come out of the vent when it's full with that setup then?
-
ya, there is a 1/2" hose that i have hooked to the vent port and the top of of the tank. my tank had 4 nipples. top fill, top vent, bottom pump flood, bottom drain.
-
things with check valves AND threaded connections are for "city water hookups" that go on the pressure side of the pump, they're for when you have full hookup and can just use the hose pressure to run your system and ignore the pump and your tank.
-
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks

replaced about 25 missing exterior screws on this thing Sunday.
two beers of staring at the RV windows i bought last year, and still have no plan that im happy with. new tool box configuration will kill what i had planned where to cut them in.
hoping to spend some time on this guy next week to make some updates for the moab trip. the new shop leaf blower is great for cleaning out the trailer!
-
caught a roof leak last week. had noticed a buckled seem on the one piece roof in Moab.
used the sweet 49 for a work plat form and made the repair tonight with roof goo and a few screws.

winterized with 3 gallons of -75F
-
What’s your procedure on winterizing?
Empty water tank as much as possible with pump
Dump some RV antifreeze into the tank
Pump through the system till pink comes out
? ? ?
I am going to pull the propane unit off the wall and store indoors for the winter
-
Yeah that’s about it.

pump til pink comes out sink, toilet faucet, toilet, shower, and outdoor spigot (if you have one). Basically every line where water would be flowing needs to be pink.
-
first check to see if your pump has a bypass, where you can pump directly from a jug instead of just dumping into your tank. You use a lot less this way, i.e. my 38ft camper only uses 2 gallons and it has hot and cold lines that run all the way to a sink back, a mid kitchen sink, front bathroom sink, shower and toilet and outside shower connection.
-
Set trailer in yard where pump pickup port was lowest point relative to level ground. Opened faucet till no water came out. Took water heater off the wall. Dumped in 4 gal of pink stuff and turned everything back on till solid pink came out. Done!

-
6 new tires showed up today.
just about spent mounting one to a loose wheel. i think ill pay someone to do the next 5. cold rubber and new they are supper stiff! i was tapped out 3 times trying.
-
tires worked great.
fuckup on my part on the trip west, forgot to drain (and save) RV antifreeze in AZ from water tank before filling. dumped to flush and fill, but return trip 3 places we could not source more RV antifreeze so system got -20 Washer fluid before we hit New Mexico cold temps.... bah.
no trailer issues other than sand.
New HF generator works awesome.
-
spent all day cleaning my trailer and putting trailer tools and gear back. has gotten way out of hand since the move!
unwinterised water system
scrubbed down sink, stove, counter, toilet
all sheets and comforters / sleeping gear washed
trailer leaf blow out
straps organized
back of truck cleaned out
trailer battery charged and new propane tank
much better!
