Title: Heavy Chevy
Post by: SlvrJK on January 10, 2015, 08:10:07 AM
This could turn into a project, lol.  Picked up a new daily / tow pig yesterday cause the charger went boom again.  2010 Chevy Silverado Z71 with tow package, 1500, 5.3, 6l80E, ccsb, some other goodies.

nice buggy motor!

Would love to have this same drivetrain in my jeep

Shiney!

That lasted about 3 minutes as it snowed earlier in the day prior to my taking delivery.

Charger is gone.  Something let go in the motor again, coolant was coming out of places it shouldn't have been, lol.

Oh boy! Into the tow rig world!

Yessir, all downhill from here.

Nice!  I have a '08 sierra ccsb. Basically the same truck only mines a 2wd.

Have you had good luck with it so far?

Purchase will be a ways out as I wasn't planning on getting this truck.

That being said...single car 16 to 18 ft long, electric brakes, prolly drive over fenders cause my jeep is pretty wide.

Fantastic luck, love my truck.  Rear end squats easily though, so I'm planning on buying airbags.

Just ordered exhaust for my truck.  Dynomax ultra flow catback.  I run dynomax on my jeep and have been pretty happy with it, and from what I've heard from sound clips for the silverado it sounds pretty good...not too loud. Plus the price was right.

That's what I'm going to find out.  Should be here tomorrow so I'll slap it on this weekend.

My charger sounded like ass on 4cyl mode but i could keep it in sportshift to deactivate DOD.  I'll tune AFM out of the truck if i can deal with the sound.

This exhaust should be pretty mellow compared to what I had on my charger so it shouldnt be too bad.

Please take pics when you have it installed. Very curious for my truck :)

Got the exhaust on today.  Didn't take to many pics of the finished product but there are pics and sound clips up on my facebook/instagram.  Sounds pretty good, like I expected not too loud but you definitely know somethings there.  The sound when in AFM is livable, unlike it was in my Charger.
