okay, I finished that thread. I may have missed something but I just saw a WAY cool single seater coming together, I didn't see an issue with jackshafts. He was going to cut it up and mate it with some tcase parts for a driveline disconnect - seems reasonable.  I also saw he just welded a yoke onto the short side output too. Also seems potentially reasonable.

There is no room for what he wanted to do. There is no room for any of that nonsense on the output that goes under the motor. I talked to him and he recommended not using this combo. The short side is easy. The long side is a problem with these engine trans combo.

oh, so it's the shaft being tight to the block/pan/etc that's the issue. gotcha

Hahaha, I have Moose Knuckle

Also I have a problem, Got the motor out.

The trans has a jackshaft going to the drivers side of the car, would be the rear axle on the buggy. I cant use that and it looks like a regular cv shaft will not fit in there to make adapters to a driveshaft.

What trans can I get to fit this motor and not have a jackshaft. I have another trans, I believe its a HG or something that will not bolt to the 1.8 motor.

Didn't know if you solved this but talked to a big Honda nut here at work and he said they should be the same.  Should be able to put the other side in and run it without the jack shaft.

Yeah there is not enough space to fit the end of a cv shaft.

Yep. Or a Nissan motor, or something similar.

I am looking now.

The guys that bought the motor gave me some good ideas. Pull the cat and scrap that seperate, fill the gas tank and seats with water.

I can run any small 4cyl i can find with an auto.

We have tons of wrecks in the lot at work any perticular nissan. If you don't need a title I can possibly get you one for scrap price.

I only need a title to scrap it when Im done, or do you have some kind of paperwork that takes care of that?

A Sentra would work, has to be auto. Or a Corolla, small 4-cyl FWD auto is all I need. Any car will work as long as it is whole and runs, I need to pull the wiring harness and computer to use as well. Take a look at what you have available and let me know.

They don't like being stolen from....

Im not filling anything with water, thats too much work. But it is pouring rain and the windows are open.....

Removing the cat is just smart.

Hmm that new? They did not do that when I scrapped the tracker.
