M4wdFab:
Tonys jeep is cursed

been plaiged front and rear with puking gear oil.  Been hard to diagonos because i think he is over filling diffs and doing a lot of work on his own.

The front shaft started leaking after he did the big ford brake swap kit.  We changed inner axle seals.  existing looked fine to me, we put new ones in, they were the good trumpet kind both sets

still leaks

Vents are claimed to be free at end and axle housing.

KingtheZJ:
what is big ford brake swap kit? never heard of it

Recipe for a leak free dana 30
Buy oem dealer axle seals....only ones I have ever gotten to seal without issue..
Axle tube seals, intended to keep mud and dirt out also keep oil in... The aluminum ones that have a grease nipple..

How's the angle on the rear axle? If it was changes to adjust driveline there may be a pressure issue..
Run without vent hose and see if it's pouring from there.

M4wdFab:
i dislike OEM seals, you want the spicer ones that have the guide cone on them so you can slam the axle shafts in and out like a 3 yr old

we are looking at fixing the front first- i believe the rear was a way over fill condition.
I had him pull the diff plug and run with a peice of masking tape over the fill plug hole with an 1/8" hole in it.  still leaks out

dont know details about brake swap, was 800$ or so and uses different parts from ball joints out

mr.mindless:
I was gonna bet big on plugged drains. hmm
