Title: damnable fuel lines
Post by: mr.mindless on June 26, 2012, 04:07:52 PM
So it looks like #6 lasted me some 2 months/ 6,000 miles.

Seriously? That's worse than the coated crack-prone lines. It was a MUCH smaller failure though.  Pinhole that wasn't big enough to even pulse with injection. But a failure nonetheless.

That's in smikey drink time. Was at least an hour.

Assuming I don't knock over my blocking and drop the tank and spill 10 gallons of fuel, next time should be half an hour.

Actual fuel level sender.

Need to investigate further - make sure connector pinout matches; no pinched wires between tank and frame; etc.

Worst comes to worst I should be able to swap the new fuel line fittings into the old module and at least not worry about that rotten rustiness.

Appears to have been installer error. Was clocked wrong w float pinned against tank wall. Heard a 'sploosh' as I turned it. Reading just under 1/4 now. Reinstalling. And motherfuckering myself.

Definitely worse off than before unless it frees up driving tomorrow.

Sitting at about 3/16 on the gauge, and I can see fuel in the filler neck. On the bright side the fill valve stopped fuel flow where it should have. That has nothing to do w my changes though. My changes were in response to leaking when it doesn't stop flow.

I shut the valve before I came in. I don't trust any of it.

I'd speak with the fine thread nuts on coarse thread bolts guy. I used no ratchets.

forgot to say that after i asked you what you did to it, you responded with "user error" so i figured you knew it was like that. one of your normal answers, haha
