Tire patch has a big bubble. Inner patch must have failed to fully seal, or I needed to let it sit longer. I'll run it for a spare anyway. Didn't break bead on the other damaged tire to see how the worse tire turned out.
Here are each of them before/ during.
Just landed at line mt. Determined a Last Minute alternate for PM. "Delayed Maintenance". Though "Reactive Maintenance" may also be a good candidate.
Car got all 4 rear link bushings, tightened king pin and wheel bearing on LF (should tear down hub and clean/ replace bearings), patched 2 tires which may have been a waste of nearly a day, new power steering pump and filter, and an oil change with fresh 20-50 and a quart of Lucas, after running a half pint of Sea Foam in the old oil for 5-10m (up to 190F ect) to MAYBE free up any stuck gack. Had some pretty bad ticks before changing oil, and 17-22psi at idle, 190F. New oil has same ticks but at half or less the volume, and 37-42psi at idle, 190F.
I'm not sure I changed the oil at the start of the season. Didn't date the filter that I saw though the mud.
We'll see what I forgot to tighten.
If nothing, we'll see if sea foam helped free up any stuck rings, or otherwise how long before I burn 4qt of oil and need to stop and refill for lack of oil pressure.
Honestly the whole reason I still bothered to come down to race on 4hr sleep (in addition to tire delivery to Bret) is to see if the new steering pump made a difference in effort and feedback. Hoping a fresh pump brings things back to what I remember or if it stays terrible and I need to change geometry when I make new tie rods.
Still not sleepy. Humbug. Peace out!
