The goal for this build was to give me a buggy I can fit the kids into and race in the RcRocs series.
It all started when Smike found a 2006 6.0 Out of a Silverado and an attached 4L80E 2wd trans. He dident want it, so I went and picked it up.
Now I had a motor and no chassis. After looking around at what was available I found something I liked, but the cost was too high. So Smike said he would build me a roller.
And so it began

That was about 2 days worth of work.
Motor/trans and a 22 gallon fuel cell
(http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c182/Ryan_25/4%20seater/buggy30.jpg)
Transfer case, divorced 205

Corbeau Baja SS Suspension seats installed

The stock exhaust manifolds did not work well, so I got a set of block hugger headers off Summit for around $200. They fit much better.
Axles are Chevy 14 bolt and Dana 60. Got a good deal from Josh on these babies, they were showroom fresh. :-\
After Smike filled his lungs, and shop with rust from cleaning up the axles he did the 4-links.
-
We used 1.25" Ruff Stuff heims on the axle ends and bushings on the frame end. All tabs are 3/8" and braced up nice and strong. The links are made from 2" .250" square.
The front axle received an Artec truss and ram mount along with the Artec high steer arms, ARP studs, and steering links from Ruff stuff. The Artec allow you to run use the stock steering arm for a much stronger knuckle.
The Trail Gear double ended ram took needed some spacers made to get it to fit.
-
(http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c182/Ryan_25/4%20seater/buggy13.jpg)
When the fab work was done the chassis was stripped down and taken out to the "old" shop for final welding.
Brought up the Aussie trailer and picked up my new roller.
We found out that H2 wheels do not work with the Artec steering arms. Had to loosen up the front lug nuts to get the tires away from the arms enough to roll.
-
Brought it home and installed the engine/trans, shocks, and bumps. And let the kids play on it.
After I got tired of looking at it and not working on it, back to Smikes it went. This time to the new shop for floors, rood and side tins.
Since I am not a good fabricator or welder, Smike also mounted the pedals and orbital mount.
-
Picked it up in a rain storm and took it home again.
I did not have enough tabs to mount the tins with, so I did that at home.
Then painted it.
Let Junior and Liz see how it felt.
Side tins and roof bolted in
(http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c182/Ryan_25/4%20seater/buggy38.jpg)
On to the dash and electrics
(http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c182/Ryan_25/4%20seater/12610fc5.jpg)
Engo E9000 winch, I got a super deal on at www.profendersuspension.com (http://www.profendersuspension.com)

It now runs. Its wired up,and all the accessories are functioning. The radiator is not hooked up yet, so I cant run it long.
The exhaust is 2.5" with a Dynomax super turbo muffler and it sounds sweet.
Still left to do are, brakes, lights, driveshafts, shifters, wheels tires, and steering hoses. I have ordered a Winters shifter for the 4L80E, waiting on that still.
The t-case shifters I may need help with, but we will see.
Driveshafts will be 1410 series u-joints and a 2-piece front.
I may just leave the gears in it and see how it goes. It all depends on $$$$$$$$$. ;D
-
Looking good!
I need to get to work...
-
looks awesome ryan
i also need to get to work
-
nice build thread. kewl.
-
who did you get the switch panel from?
-
Its from Summit, came all wired and has long leads for starter and a 8ga for the power supply, I like it a lot. Nice switches as well.

-
Used this disconnect too
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LNG-45785/ (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LNG-45785/)
-
Ran this for a bit today, blew up the fuel filter.
I guess I need a return style filter/regulator.
-
this buggy is coming along great, cant wait to see it wheel!
-
Picked up the filter/regulator from NuWay in Farmington yesterday. Ordered some AN fittings for it today from Summit.
The little things will bleed you dry. Looks like I will be running with 4.10s and stock shafts for a little while. At least for winter testing, and maybe race 1.
-
meh. It's only money... :P
-
Sure, Mr RCV shafts. ::)

That's a nice panel. Only thing that'd make it nicer is breakers instead of fuses.
-
All the neighbor hood chicks have got to be digging this hog
-
You they are all knocking down the door to see it :D
-
Had to throw some chicks out of the garage.
Got it running again, the fuel pump sounds much happier.
-
Took the knuckles off, things look very bad in there.
If we had tapatalk I would post pics.

-
those had at least two or three laps left on em!
-
Im tired of spending money on this. Bah.
-
Im tired of spending money on this. Bah.
dont get tired, because then you will get lazy, and then your shat will break on the trail from lazyness in the build!
-
Yea yea.
I need to find a good deal on tires and wheels.
Axle shafts are expensive.
-
ill sell you a set of tires and wheels and 4340 chromo shafts.... they are guaranteed for 5 years
-
Your wheels dont fit.
5-year warranty? Hows that work when I destroy one?
-
i call doug and tell him to send me a new one and yukon drop ships out whichever shaft it is if it is a good break. not sure but i dont think damage due to ujoint failure counts.
-
Let me know how much.
-
costs 780$ to get a set from doug....
-
i also have a brand new in bag stub from the one i blew Tokyo drifting at Whispering Pines last year!
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-d6bc-da39.jpg)
Shifter installed.
-
that is bling bling rywan!!! bling bling maaa fawkkaaaaa
-
Yes, thanks.
-
I got prices from BFG today on the race sponsor price for the Krawlers and KRT-Bs.
They are about $80 less per tire than the Rockers.
-
go krt b 8)
lets get someone to get us a deal on wheels too. sign me up for 4 locks
-
ryan..
what size?
i want to see what price they sell at for sponsors..
-
39.5 Id assume
-
I dont think the KRTs suit my style of wheeling.
-
believe me... your style of wheeling is going to change with an actual gas petal this time around....
-
i am gay!
-
Ha HA^
-
Hahahaha.
-
Who wants to be my gay friend!?!?!!!
-
I think I may need help getting this huge turd of a t-case into position. Any takers?
Not Nick, he has some kind of gay fascination with this thread. ;D
-
I'm not lifting anything for a few weeks :P but I'll bolt it in
-
id like to remind you we never finished some bracing on your sub frame and you should get a skid worked out :)
duct tap the case to a floor jack and lift it up to the buggy, easy.
-
It is a tight fit. I gave it a half assed attempt a couple weeks ago. I am going to try again tonight and see what happens.
Then I will add more to the subframe.
-
do you want a pair of solid knuckles on this hog?
mine will be in the mail when the arms come out of CNC
-
Money is running dry, I will pass on the knuckles.
There are a pair of Artec arms machined for Solid knuckles on Pirate.
T-case is in and functioning. Gotta put some oil in that sucker.
-
how is the ujoint / yoke situation going?
are you driving by fastenal at all today on frontier time? :)
i could use 2packs each of 4" and 4.5" 9/16" and a pack of top locks
-
also is your other 205 for sale?
-
Possibly, let me test this one first.
-
I can stop by down town fastenal if Rywan cannot? If there open after 5?
-

i could use 2packs each of 4" and 4.5" 9/16" and a pack of top locks
They are out of 9/16" bolts. I got the last pack of 4" 9/16" yesterday. The 4.5 are out of stock. I can stop in and get the toplocks for you. And bring 2 packs (10) of the 4" bolts tonight.
-
They close at 5.
-
i have enough top locks i am just low.
i might run over to Henrietta Fnal. Ryan your name for the account cash acount or does EJC get better deal? i think delphi has an account with them too.
-
Money is running dry,
wanna throw a Nu Way sticker on it
-
Money is running dry,
wanna throw a Nu Way sticker on it
Yes, I would. ;)
-
Off road industries is the account name
I think its the same as Erik gets
-
Ryan I owe you money for a couple packs of bolts. The wouldn't let me pay or get a copy of the invoice. Seems kinda sketchy how easily they just let me use your account. Something about having to go through victor store...
-
I worked on a new hood design
(http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c182/Ryan_25/3536d97b.jpg)
It looks good, I think its the best way to fit a hood over that motor.
-
That is just the mold, I have to find fiberglass and make the actual hood.
-
cool!
-
Finding that much fiberglass mat around is not that easy.
-
clark craft is where i use to get all my stuff
-
I ordered a roll.
-
you get a rear shaft in this hog yet? it felt so great hitting 2nd gear lowrange from one corner of my lot to the other yesterday! lol
-
Not yet, I won a 2-piece Superduty shaft on Ebay for the front.
I looked at J and J with no luck for the rear
-
any luck on wheels? i am gona order mine tomorrow from method
-
Nope
-
ok
5 methods on the way, you want some?
-
Not right now. Thanks
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-3ecf-a5e2.jpg)
Just need to sand it and paint. It looks better than anything I could do out of metal.
-
that looks kinda random lol
-
It follows all the tubes. It will look better when it painted.
-
looks like a topo map :)
-
Yea, the motor sticks up pretty good.
-
pitch that tent!!!
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-956d-42b9.jpg)
Rear shaft new from Vic
-
nice hook the steering up yet? almost time for RWD testing!
-
Steering is done, all thats left are brake lines, front driveshaft, and t-case shifters. And wheels and tires.
-
ok
5 methods on the way, you want some?
Sweet dude!
-
just canceled the order, they suck like all little people
-
What went wrong?
Whats next Raceline single beadlock?
-
i cant be waiting for wheels 2 weeks before a race is what happened....
-
i might need to grab my jackstands tomorrow. i was confused he wants the B's not the C's
-
Np problem. I will get them off tomorrow for you.
-
i can pick them up at the house in the late morning. i dont feel like driving the jeep anyway lol
-
I have to be somewhere until about 11:30 or so. Get them on your way to the picnic?
-
what did u use to make that mold?
-
No mold really, just stretched fabric over the arear and layered with fiberglass mat. It is not smooth and its bumpy, but I think it looks good.
-
http://rochester.craigslist.org/pts/2862932636.html
-
Calling on them now. Thanks
-
Ryan Green sami welded them up,
id get them.
-
Agreed on price, meeting tonight. Hopefully, you never know with Craigslist.
-
nice!
-
Thanks
-
Thanks for swooping on my sale Mike .....lol. Can't blame ya if they're as good as advertised.
-
posted on CL at 11:32, and i happened to see it at 11:35 now that is M4wd Speed!
-
wrong lug patter for your little silly jeep
-
Those are the trash Irok size, remember :*(
-
Not for me...I was quoting Ryan on tires
-
For that price, remember there is $700 worth of wheels there, If they lasy a Year im ok with it.
-
everyone says they are trash, josh seems to make them work, i just dont like how bald and round looking they get. with a 9" wheel they will look a little better.
It will be nice to see first hand what a brand new set does without relying on the internet.
-
Btdt
-
heavy ass piles of dakotas dont count for tire evaluations
-
Dident Gif have them on his J-truck too?
-
thats right, gif beats the snot out of them, and finally cut a side wall at walts last trip.
-
I guess my MTR rave reviews don't count too then?
heavy ass bent piles of Rams don't mean BFG ATs suck too then right? I'll expect to not be hearing that! :)
-
For the price if them, would you pass them up? Even if they do suck. No way I loose money on them.
-
steel beadlocks and tires that suck? maybe for that price but only maybe. I'd have to think about it.
-
Haha. You have not shopped for tires in a while.
-
yeah I know what the prices are doing... it hasn't REALLY sunk in though, I admit.
-
thats a good deal, i would have bought them if they were the 42's just to have
-
if they were 42s they wouldn't be shitty Iroks.
-
Driveshafts are set, The front and rear shafts are the same, makes for a 1-spare situation. ;D
-
Sweet
-
That's very convenient
-
I forgot about rear brake hoses from the caliper to the axle. Any idea what others are running? Would be nice to not have to search boxes at Nu-Way for a half hour.
-
Shocks(http://img.tapatalk.com/4a25edf1-da19-ee3a.jpg)
-
you are also missing a bead lock bolt!
-
I almost dident take the tires because of that. :'(
-
How is looking over the hood? Is it hard to see
-
Not as good as the last buggy, but it will do.
-
that picture makes it look squashed and tall, its not that bad.
your hood is still goofy lol
-
yeah that pict definitely looks different than before
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-3ecf-a5e2.jpg)
-
It is tall. It will be about 6'10" at ride height.
-
The rear shocks are not on yet. It's riding front high right now.
-
It needs car accessory brackets to get that front down and reasonable.
-
WTF are you saying?
-
Accessory mounting brackets from a car app to get the crap on the front of the block below the intake.
-
The intake is the high point, I see a motor lowering job at M4wd next winter. :)
-
not that my buggy is any low hood rider, but i think its fine. they way its low on the sides of the front and a foot shorter than my buggy up front is nice. Ryan is a tall guy also, and his floor to roof is almost 2" than mine too.
cant wait to see this hog tear down fraiser lane!
-
Next week.
-
The low-hood-ri-der is a little lower Da do do do do do doot da doot doot doot do
-
*smacks forehead*
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-95d4-b5e0.jpg)
Shocks all on. Driveshafts done. Brake lines run.
Not getting brake fluid to the rear. I think stroke on the pedal is too short.
-
Open bleeder and let sit over night?
-
There is no fluid coming out of the MC for the rear at all, There is prolly air in there and needs pressure to get it out.
-
Oh out the mc, you could power bleed from the caliper and force fluid up to the mc.
-
I think the point has been missed, the pedal does not push far enough into the master to create pressure for the back brakes. Even if I had fluid in the lines, it would not compress. I need to move the pushrod on the pedal to make it go into the MC more to get pressure to the rear lines.
-
Do you have room for that? Your kinda tall.... and yeah I missed the problem.
-
Just need to move the rod on the pedal arm. No extra room needed. Move it further away from the pivot point gives it more stroke.
I dident goto college, but I think thats how it works. :)
-
O0
-
Looks about 12 inches taller that it should be.
-
It's 6 inches higher than when riding on the bumps.
-
Turtle tall status.
-
It's only 6'8" and that's with the rear end riding 3" higher than it should.
These harnesses are awesome.
My transfer case is bad. When does anyone want to help swap a heavy ass 205?
-
bad? whahuh?
-
are you doing it wrong? lol
-
There's is a bad bearing sound when the RPMs get up.
-
free spining it with no shafts hooked up i assume?
you have oil in it, sure the shift rods are in the correct position and fully in?
-
Yea, I checked the shift rails. And I changed the fluid. You can feel it in the case. I would rather just change it now, than wait and worry.
-
Good plan.
What belts did you get? Prp I see, details?
-
do you have the parts list for the front axle bearings? did you replace the dust shelds on the lower king pin bearings?
id like to put all new junk in with the new Knuckles
-
i bet timken or BCA makes a complete kit..
-
I used to somewhere, it's not hard to find.
I got all my stuff from bronco graveyard. I don't remember if they list real part numbers. I used to have a complete set of spares but I think some or most have been eaten up and not replaced.
-
I will send a link from where I got stuff. Some was from Nu-way, but the actual king pin was not listed. I replaced the shields and all bearings when I did mine.
-
This is where I got the king pins http://www.northerndrivetrain.com/
Bearings came from Nu-Way, they had them in stock. Seals and dust shields were included in the kits from Nu-Way
-
Transfer cases swapped.
Things left to do.
Weld Diffs
Make t-case shifters
Skidplate
Hood pins
Stage 8 spindle nuts
Wheel studs, lug nuts
Install 3 harnesses
Bolt the skins back on
-

-
this thing is almost there... awesome, and there i was wondering if it'd be done by the time i got home :-)
looks good
-
Skid plate is all that's left.
-
It held together. No parts fell off.
Burned up the master cutoff switch.
-
Didn't you have some fancy one?
-
The new monster did awesome for first run. Must have been the tires. ;D
-
new iroks dig and put every one elses tires to shame. a JK put me to shame twice before i aired down from 15 to something less than 15 lol
-
making the St Pat parade with the family in the 4 seater?
-
Nope won't be there. Kids are getting Easter/birthday pictures taken.
-
i want to see pics of the family 4 mud bogging tomorrow!
-
If you were mud bogging too you wouldn't need pics!
-
i have pre committed mom duties :(
-
List of whats left
Gauges
Window nets
Fuel vent hose
Swap springs
Stop roof rattle
Nut and bolt check
Spare tire
Fire extinguishers
-
I need a spare tire. I have a wheel. Smike, do you have an unmounted KRT I can borrow?
-
i really dont :-\
ill be running the old KRTs if they fit, and i guess ill have to mount one of the New ones for a spare.
you cant have a new one sorry ;D
-
old style 40" MTR on H2
-
do you have a rear view mirror? fluid containment on your engine, trans, steering ect? line lock?
looks like they are following full ultra4 rules now....
-
old style 40" MTR on H2
I may need to borrow that. ;)
-
Almost done. Gotta hit the JY for a horn and brake switch
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-9441-df22.jpg)
-
(http://img.tapatalk.com/48e6be67-9488-ad79.jpg)
-
Mike, can I borrow your wheel/tire I wont have a spare in time. I dont think I will carry it, just carry the plug kit and nitrogen. Just use it as a back up if needed.
Nut and bolt check tomorrow and this beast is ready for its first race. Im scared it will fall apart. :)
-
As long as it gets remembered and transported there yes absolutely.
Unless something unexpected happens, it looks like I'll be driving Saint Michael down late on Friday, so I'll have to try and remember to do something useful with it for southbound transport.
-
needs tree bars and still 4" lower :)
-
topsy turvy 2.0!!!!!
-
no Profender stickers on the sides? hopefully no one will be seeing the one on the roof much!
-
Lucas Murphy is the only one tall enough to see the top of topsy turvy 2.0!
-
did i read on FB that lucas new car is ONLY 6" shorter? so he still is the tallest in the field? whahuh?
-
no Profender stickers on the sides? hopefully no one will be seeing the one on the roof much!
and "Chassis by M4WDFab" too
-

Mike when are you heading back to Rochester? I could possibly come pit if I could get a ride down to Rausch with you on Friday and back on Saturday.
-
this mike will probably leave saturday night if we are broke bad and no fire to sit around.... if not ill stay and wheel i think i have 4 punches on a new 5 pass left.
-
I've still got a good season pass.
I might throw a sticker on Saint Michael and tool around haul roads?
-
I've still got a good season pass.
I might throw a sticker on Saint Michael and tool around haul roads?
That thing will break in half and leave you stranded
-

The view you guys will see.
is that because you only make it half a lap and you are parked off to the side
-
Blue, thanks. That'll make you easier to spot as we overtake :)
-
BITD style cause this hawg is FAST!
-
Also was thinking about pitting this weekend but now have an interview tomorrow. Just going to stay here this weekend and work on school stuff :'( May race might be better anyway.
-
Why did I think you were codogging?
-
Why did I think you were codogging?
I'm codogging for RCQ if the buggy isn't destroyed after this weekend. Lol
-
Ha ha I'm sure Ryan will Finish the race this time.
-
good luck Ryan, Liz enjoy the paradise of have the new hauler.
-
How'd the 024 buggy do?
-
had some driveshaft issues, .5 lap DNF and needs a rear pinion seal at least. nut came off the rear pinion, and off the midship yoke of the rear shaft if I understood correctly.
-
Made over 9 miles until the shaft failure. Then another 200 feet until the other shaft failure.
-
i guess we blew by you guys so fast liz didnt even no it was us until a few seconds of thought later 8)
-
Yeah I was totally spaced out and not paying attention :)
-
How was the new trailer?
-
awesome!
-
Even better than awesome!
-
fuckin sweeeeet
-
this hog is 4-5" lower in the front. should take more rate well, and have less of -2" of preload ryan :)
bumps, rear coil mounts, rear sway bar.
-
im confused by our sway bars. seems like half the hardware is missing. yours is on.
-
just have rear mounts and front bumps to move. the rear bumps may work as is and are set up good. just ticks the sway bar a little.
-
Can I get a pro fender shock absorber pen?
-
I have no pens.
What is missing from the sway bar kits? I will call again and leave another message.
-
I would complain only 4 jam nuts total, and the heims are all RH thread?
i could have lost some things cause i just dumped both bags on the table and used what i needed to do yours right. i dont need any of the hardware with my existing links
-
what profender swag is there, stickers,hat,t-shirt,man thong?
-
No swag right now. Working on things.
-
Ohh ill take a man thong
and a pen

loaded
-
Not mine
-
Got this thing back from M4 last night, swapped springs on the Max Jax, it looks much better now, and it dosent feel as tippy.
Added 19 gallons of fuel to my 22 gallon tank, I guess she was a little low on gas. :)
-
Picture fail.
-
It looks better now and should be slightly easier to get in to :)
-
Important upgrade. (http://img.tapatalk.com/a6898be9-4b13-476a.jpg)
-
I like that upgrade
-
looks hard on your knees
-
It was all tested and approved. Multiple tests were run, positions were carefully negotiated and the end result is a marriage of style and function.
-
Well said, but no matter how silver your tongue the truth of it is that the beverage is not always upright.
-
Worked on the spare tire last night, got the beadlock done tire mounted, just need to stop at Fastenal for the bolts.
Its a heavy ass tire to get up on the back of the buggy. ???
-
You get another irok?
-
you gota do the roll trick on one of the other rear tires. i had one of my krts up there to check for new shock location clearance
-
Yes a new Irok.
I rolled it up the rear tire. It's still 150 pounds or so.
-
Should be able to stack those 12 high! I can do 10 and I'm a relative midget :P
-
This is why I say everyone should hire me as a personal lifter.
-
transportation costs are too high 8)
-
i was thinking about this hog and since your having a new shaft built for the front, and your front and rear shafts are the same, why not take the hosed slip yoke and make a square shaft to carry as a spare with two new joints, and full sets of ubolts. you would just need the square and one more 1410 something end. i think it would be a great idea.
-
No new shaft needed, just a yoke end and clean up the splines.
I should get another superduty shaft and carry it as a spare.
Im so frustrated with this pile, Its gonna get torn apart tonight and all parts will be looked at closely, Im tired of breaking. Emails in to various places for replacement parts. Grrrrrr
-
And the Dodge is making a really bad noise, sounds like PS pump or Ideler pulley, leaking something out the front as well. Grrrrr
-
it was making noise when you moved your trailer, i forgot about that lol
i can maybe come over and help with the buggy tonight. you are welcome to bring it here also. I will be ordering parts, and more preping next week after 101. i fixed everything i needed to for 101 last night.
-
what trans cooler you have on this guy? i am not finding anything that looks good regardless of cost right now. cant think of the name of the one lucas said to get.
-
I believe this is the one I have
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DER-15800/
List of them all

-
If you or anyone wants to come over, I will be working on this beast tonight.
-
I would but I don't want to share my sickness.
I was talking with Gif last night about the rear yoke, how was yours converted for ubolts? If it was a DIY, were the tips all brought back far enough to get clean ubolt clamping and the back sides flattened out for good flat but seating? Ubolts really shouldn't ever break that way.
-
Its finr, the problem has been determined and will be fixed. Its a pinion nut issue, I can see on the u-joint where it has been hitting the joint. Remedy is underway. U-bolt fitment will also be checked. :'(
-
Ah!! That makes 100% sense. Shitty but sane and solved at least.
-
Drive flanges ordered, HD edition ;D
Bearings and seal available for pick up at Nu-Way this afternoon.
Working on finding a new pinion nut and yoke.
-
Also, hard start capacitor is in hand, hopefully it will allow me to run the AC Off the generator.
-
i am a genius!
-
Also, hard start capacitor is in hand, hopefully it will allow me to run the AC Off the generator.
Have something similar for my geo-pump in the house. Went from 125A locked-rotor start-up to about 45A! PTO genny starts and runs it without issue now!
-
i am a genius!
Just a transfer of knowledge. ;D
-
that must be a hell of a capacitor. and a hell of a pump.
-
That must be a massive capacitor
-

-
haha, yup that's the one... 8)
-
Changed the water pump, tensioner pulley and belt on the Dodge last night. No more squeaky noises.
The water pump is very small, I was surprised.
-
those are usually 500k water pumps
-
dump bus owners cannot bawk about intentional PM
-
250k is good enough on a WP. It was the problem,
-
it's good that it's fixed.
I have a quiet squeak, I couldn't track it down with my mechanics stethescope. Thought that was pretty strange.
-
i could not determine which pulley was schreetching on the 5.3 sounded like a box of rocks with a screwdriver to my ear on both of them. replaced both and the belt, no issues.
-
Yea buddy.

Smike loaned me his spare yukon shafts. He wants them broken so he can get new ones, I will do the best I can. :)
Thanks again Smike.

1973$ shipped
-
No
-
Still no 220 plug? Usually, once you get past 2000watt, they throw one on there...
-
Washed this hog tonight. It took a couple hours to get it mostly clean. Rausch Creek mud is nasty.
Cut off the bump stops. Tightened the T-case bolts that where falling out. Eyed up my 3 bent lower links. The right rear is massively bent. Need to flip them over.
Theere is a wheel leaking out of the backside of the bead lock. Looks like it broke a weld.
I might start taking the front end apart tomorrow. It should not be too bad to get apart. That front truss will make it interesting.
-
told you about Tcase bolts. you NEED bushings also on the top, and weld 3/8" bar across the bolts to hold them tight. no other way.
-
told you about Tcase bolts. you NEED bushings also on the top
seriously? bushings only on one side? I know you know better than that Ryan.
-
I know im not too smart but What purpose do bushings between the bolt head and steel plate serve? I would bolt it in without bushings if I could.
I plan on welding the bolts I can get to and putting a wrench or socket on The one I can't get to with a sawzall.
-
it needs "give" both ways, otherwise it may as well be bolted in solid.
-
pull a tin, and 4 bolts to take the seat out? i thought yours was easy the way i welded in your floors
-
The one bolt that is thru the floor on the front side you cant get a cutoff wheel or sawzall to. The other 3 are fine. No need to pull anything to get to them all. I can tighten them with a wrench from under the pile.
it needs "give" both ways, otherwise it may as well be bolted in solid.
Why would solid mounted be bad for a divorce mount t-case? There is no need for "give" on a divorced mount.
-
It is a give and take relationship
-
Raining tonight, so no fence work. Putting the front end of this pile back together tonight.
-
3 leaky beadlocks, from te inside of the wheel. Im going to try and slime them to see if that cure the leaks.
-
If its at the bead I'll be surprised if it works.
-
Its leaky welds from the backside of the weld on ring (I did not weld them), not the actual tire bead.
-
Ah, misunderstood. No clue if that'll work. Would be neat.
-
DIY with cracked welds after 40 race miles, hmmm. interesting.
-
If slime can seal up Smikes holy TSLs then I think it can do just about anything. Hahahahah
-
DIY with cracked welds after 40 race miles, hmmm. interesting.
I will be surprised if they are still on this rig next season.
-
i moved those TSL yesterday, and every one of them was still hard with air!
-
sweet
-
i moved those TSL yesterday, and every one of them was still hard with air!
Don't let the air out of them without ventilation in the shop. You may asphyxiate yourself!
-
i filled my enclosed trailer with tires sunday. like filled, tires, blown motor, boxes and parts, and moved to storage under the apt
i just counted, i am up to 48 tires i currently own, i am sure there are more bah!
-
need to dump them? i know a place
-
Burn them!!
-
no they are all good tires, and do get used between the buggy, tow rig, trailers, ect. i think i have like 3 or 4 that are under the deck i wasnt counting but i keep them around for throwing motors on.
-
2 of 3 leaky tires fixed with slime.
-
The new race buggy, Electric is where its at.

torque monster!
-
is that a gopro mounted on the roof?
-
Yes it is, the kids like to take video of them driving around. GoPro has been in the pool as well.
-
You almost fit! Definitely a gopro. Nice.
-
Picked up an Onan 4000 watt generator from a noce old man in Watkins Glen today on the way home. Its a RV unit do it needs to be mounted and have a fuel cell plumed to it. Rigged it up and started it, its very quiet, when its all enclosed and has the muffler on right it will be Honda quiet.
Generac for sale, $450. ;D
-
Neighborhator! ;)
Noice.
-
I'll drop that fuel cell off tonight. I am off of baby picking up duty this month!
-
My Dad gave me one he had laying around. Sorry. :'(
-
Ahhh I just deleted it off the CL!
-
I did nother know he had one until yesterday. It was free so I can't complain.
-
It needed a bump anyway lol
-
Got someone coming to get it tonight (supposedly) might of worked out haha
-
i have a Tcase shifter handel for you, i was making mine and it slipped out of the chuck. it should be fine your you though haha
-
Great. I will try it out.
How much do you think my open deck trailer is worth?
-
2k easy. They are getting stupid money on CL.
-
2k in like a day. 2500+. Should be 2800ish new isn't it? And nice trailers don't seem to depreciate.
-
Prolly like $4-500, let me know :D
-
hahahaha
-
7ks are listed for 2-2500 on CL all day long, is start at 3
-
Thinking about seeking that and my small trailer and getting a deckover gooseneck.
-
Deck over goosenecks are where its at or so I hear!!
-
Well how am I suppose to borrow that?
-
Yours is all fixed now.......

I have come to realize that all vendors are shit.
Ordered and paid for new axle shafts one week ago, sent 3 email for status, no response. I was told they were an in stock part. Guess what, email today saying they messed up, one week after I paid for them, WTF?

Offer accepted. We will see if he follows through.
-
:(
-
crazy,
wonder if i could sell my pile lol
-
You could sell it for $12k relatively easy.
-
Never would have thought. Hope it goes through!
You'd better get on the task of building a new wheeler.
-
Already looking at ZJ and WJ options. ;D
-
This is nice
http://appleton.craigslist.org/cto/3185650504.html
-
5.9 zj fawkkk yeah!!!
-
imo, the 5.9 is the best platform to build a unibody rig.
if you want a WJ spring for the 4.7L HO. it wont disappoint.
-
Yea, Im looking at Limited Wj or ZJ. I would be ok with a 5.2 as well.
-
having owned both... the 5.2 is a better motor in the long run....
the 5.9 tends to overheat at slow speeds..
had a lower tow rating from the factory because of this...
-
nothing a little radiator upgrade cant fix.
My buddy has a 98 5.9 hes owned for at least 10 years now, last I knew it was over 250k and it gets the SHIT beat out of it. Track once a week, front drive shaft comes out every summer, donuts lol. I cant believe the thing keep going.
-
Already looking at ZJ and WJ options. ;D
see the mild WJ on Rausch for $4400? seems like a good deal. Too bad it's a 4.0.
-
I like the 4.0 as well, I dont like that Jeep
-
Mindless still have a WJ Project for sale? >:D
-
no, arie bought it haha
-
didnt buy it... storing it
-
you sure? ;D
-
no
-
haha, you bought it alright!
