-
Looks really nice. Let us know real life mileage numbers!
-
Electronic locking rear diff
is that aftermarket?
to find out what gear ratio u have, look at the RPO code list and then look at this: http://www.sierragear.com/gm-rpo-axle-ratio-identification-codes-3/
-
No all z71 offroad packages have them per chevy I guess eaton g80 locking diff
-
G80 = gov lock = limited slip if I recall right. Electronic locker would've something else.

Owners manual says eaton g80 E locker.. Not sure

He might have a switch for the newer electric g80....
-
not sure much about it.. I only drove it home.
-
My e-locker ruled. New trucks have sweet toys.
-
Its a locker. Not a limited slip. I have one in my sierra.
Its complicated to explain, so google how it works. Basically when g80 notices a big difference of speed, it becomes a locker otherwise it is an open diff.
-
Mmmm, clutch packs on both sides of the carrier...
-
Good G80 video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTGZOJQQBeE)
-
Informative.. So what makes this electronic then.... Seems like someone with a heavy foot can grenade this
-
No electronics at all in this version of the G80. The only "E" explanation that I can come up with is "Eaton".
It's a slow-speed traction device. Keep your foot out of it. :(
-
Nice score. You'll be very happy with that truck.
G80's work well and will last a good long while if not overly abused.
-
sharp truck!
-
Thanks all....
Just installed one of Ryans led headlights in driver side... Passenger side needs to have airbox removed to install. I will wait until I install my CAI later this week

CAI is waste of $ drop in know filter does the job fine.

Found some type of Snake oil product inside my engine compartment
-
Those do work, up to a point.
-
Haven't seen one of those since the 80s
-
20mpg Highway my ass
-
Thats worse than my truck.
-
15-17 ya thats about what id expect
-
Better than mine, I'm at 13-14 with the way my wife drives
-
That's the average from day one.. Given I drive more city than Highway but.. I'm getting g 15-18 Highway depending on grade of road
-
89 octane fuel?
-
87.. Says I can use e85 not sure if that will be better
-
it will be worse
my truck is supposed to run on e85 and millage sucked
-
Ethanol contains fewer Btu/gallon. #science

Give the 93 a try.
Always better milage in my experience.
-
But almost never fewer $/mi, if that's your goal. E85 can potentially win on that front with all its fucking subsidies. I don't think its THAT cheap here in NY though.

my coworker has a 2014 f150 with the 5.0. 18.5mpg on 89. 12mpg on E85. F that

Tony,
This is the brake controller I was talking bout. IMO, the only one to get. It should be plug and play.

Thanks. Keep it in mind when I buy a trailer

That's the same brake controller I have in my Sierra. Fantastic! Don't get anything else other than the P3.
BTW it wasnt plug n play for me. I had to splice wires together, but it was such an easy job. The wiring harness was under the dash.
-
...and under the hood by the fuse box. Easy.
'07+ GM made you work for it.
-
CAI installed .. 2 mpg more from Rochester to buffalo and back...
-
Hand calculated? Lieometer isn't worth anything for that.
