Unfortunately I'm speaking of engine oil.
Needed 5qts when I got to Newburgh. Needed another gallon when I got back to Carter St.
Not pouring out anywhere at idle. There's some oil on top of the timing housing near the water pump. Breather hose had more that I'd like to see right after I got off the highway, but not after around town.
Don't know if it's boost (blowby) or RPM (vacuum pump, bad breather filter) related.
Guess I'm glad it's staying in town while I go to Toronto. Probably need to beat on it and see if I can make it make drips and then play with the vac pump. Hopefully it's just a big vac leak and the pump is pressurizing the crank case. Cruise was working great though so I doubt I've got a monster leak. Probably not good. Shame, it ran like an absolute champ today.

Is the turbo leaking?
-
it's an external leak, at least in large part. it's not going up (bottom of the hood is almost entirely clean, nothing out the fenders), but from the front swaybar back it's oily underneath to the point that the front edge of the trailer had enough on it for the jack to drip a bit.
got plenty of black on my pants screwing around with the POS winch last night. had another couple local things to do and the winch pretty well failed me. got one truck 90% on, and then could barely move and couldn't release either. that made a 1 hour project into a 3 hour tour, not fun.
-
"A threeee hourrrr tourrrr"
-
Come on, Nick. You've got to have a $5 comment in there somewhere... :P
-
Haha I was going to throw out the $5 comment but now I kinda feel bad for DBSr and all its problems
-
should have taken the wedge, that winch is a champ with a yellow top on it!
-
tell me about it!
needs a bracket fixed and I'm a battery short though.
-
Found a broken vac line on the CAD last night, and I deleted that from the vacuum system. We'll see if it does any better tomorrow on the way to Greece and back with the parents' trailer. It wasn't just leaking from the breather though, so we'll see...
-
always have a couple of local guys as well to drag around town...
smike should have an extra battery from the XJ @ the shop
-
Mike- what is the future plans for your parents trailer? If we move soon I might be interested in borrowing/renting it for a short time..
-
short term is it's going to have a couple tool boxes and a work bench that are now mine in it until I have time to make room in the garage.
the white eagle is going to keep them company in there for a lil while too since I'm loosing its parking spot at Nick's.
I'm sure we can work something out, it's only going to be a couple pieces actually in the way and I know you've got a place to roll a car out to stash while you use it.
-
is this trailer car transport worthy?
-
Absolutely, 24' Haulmark 10k tagalong. I don't know door height or width between fenders, don't know if it's the HD door either, but definitely car-worthy if not one ton buggy-worthy
-
keeping CJ5 out of salt worthy?
not that its ready... but just keeping an eye open
-
so far the trailer hasn't really seen any salt itself, have been lucky on that. I'd say probably yes, though.
Had one drop of oil on the ground under the truck when I parked in Greece. The vacuum line may have been the lion's share of the issue. Too good to be true.
Also: the Magnum is a fucking rocket ship. I don't know how you can drive anywhere near responsibly with that sort of power under the right foot. I'm definitely taking the Eagle to Toronto and not that. I'd get there in 2 hours.
-
welcome to near this decade of automobiles.
-
try driving my shit all day long and being "good"
-
An extra half liter of displacement and another hundred horse or so? Nope. Couldn't do it.
I want that motor in a racecar though!
-
I had an issue with my right foot on my way home from the picnic Saturday. Resulted in a sweet ticket for myself.
-
oops!
