Anyone do a clutch in one of these yet?

Should probably be done for Monson. When hot its an on/off switch ALL THE WAY at top of travel.

We put on at least 20 miles at Jeff’s. Zero issues other than clutch getting bad.

Best vid and one of the scarier things I’ve done

Immediately previous to that I hit it faster but straighter and at was GREAT

found one other issue when washing yesterday: radiator tank almost rubbed through from a bolt on the core support! need to fix the bottom mounts, and get that bolt out of interference range. it broke off unscrewing it so I've got to see if I have room to cut it off without pulling things.

One or two nights of punch list if we ignore the clutch.

But we're not going to ignore the clutch, I'll have clutch and flywheel tonight. It felt better when not cooked from 20+ miles of race pace, but I'd like to swap it before the race, would suck to waste that long a trip. Sooner I do it, the sooner I know if the hydraulics are fine too.

With that and the front gears in my car it'll be a 4th or 5th long week in a row. Probably take a day or 2 off to work on things again.

How's shop space this week? I don't want to tie up things if you have work to do on your own shit. I'll beg a favor from Spencer or deal with things on the ground in my own garage if i need to - just squares or cubes the amount of cursing.

check that the tire did not hit the clutch slave and crack the fitting, making it leak

bunch of shit blown up on my brolite, and my xj needs water pump at the least.  tied up for now.

Accessory drive stuff or more? Saw the shredded belt.

Will check slave but I'm 99% sure I looked and the resi was not low.

Also got better again after it cooled off.

FYI- i for the life of me could not get the mast line out of the slave- its easy to get to, just would not pop out.  the line is hard thick wall plastic 3/8 tube that swedge lock compression fittings work find on :)

its internal, there is a big window, and the bleeder was easy to get too-- ya if you are pulling the trans it has to come out i assume, unless you might beable to just unhook petal assembly and stuff rest though fire wall and keep with the trans and res...

if you need to bleed the master, it HAS to be done on the bench upside down.  it CANT be done on the fire wall.

clutch slipping or clutch not disengaging?    id try to give it a good bleed first if engagesment issues especially since it was low when i looked at it in the shop

Slip, when hot its an on/off switch ALL the way at the top of travel, and sometimes even takes a beat to engage.

Got a bit better when cold. I know I slipped it a bunch from letting my foot hover not realizing how high in clutch travel it was operating.

i might be looking at a set as a mud bog option.  this weekend race was a race of time, stupid rain.

cool, Miller said they run 8ply.  best bang for the buck looks like you chose what i would have.  you have 9" wheels?  Maxxis says 8" ok for rear?

any more video from this weekend?

Took a bunch. That one was really the only ’good’ one. Might be able to edit them into something but not sure. Mostly speed runs. The jumps other than that one don’t have good sight lines. Missed the good landing.

8” probably be ok. These have a great profile on the 9”s

Great braking too.

Jeffs is decent for testing. Needs more width for anything but test & tune but I’m as confident as I can be that mine is a runner before heading to MA.

10-20% more rebound in front and 100% more in back is what I’d change. Maybe 10-20% less compression in back but I’m not sure I’d change it. Otherwise shocks are great and it flies well and drives solid

welding on two new bolts to lower the vertical component in the rear will do what you just asked for - in the right direction less compression, less rebound

did you look to see if the front bump stops were still present and happy?
