Think I might be sticking with 1.75 leaves...

the mounts are Beefy... rivited to the frame and im sure a bead of weld from the hanger to the frame wouldnt hurt..
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

V8 is schrong, deserves newer yj leaves IMO. It'll be better for the weight up front and the torque out back. 1.75" leaves are good for 4 bangers weight- and torque-wise.

AMC V8 < AMC I6
New BDS springs will be fine...

I’ve actually thought long and hard about this truck...

Several factors went into play... but I’m aiming to have it on 33's with built stock axles.
It will be bullet proof and a hwy driver for certain..
More of an overland truck that I can drive for hours on the road and enjoy a weekend off-road as well...  More family style...

I am convinced that a link, SOA, tons, etc would be better suited for a truck that has an inherently stronger frame...
and to be honest a nicely well built 6 is worth more $$$.. I do actually factor that into my truck since I count them as assets.

got the "replacement" part from OMIX...
its solid.. but im not thrilled with the lack of weld on the sleeve... I can see that over time this part would fail if given the chance...

going to take some measurements and I think the easier thing to do will be to re sleeve the hangers already riveted to the frame..

Why re sleeve or even try and use the original hangers?nows the opportunity.
Upgrade the springs to YJ and install new heavy duty spring hangers by welding them to the frame.
Those rivets are the first spot that corrosion starts inside the frame.
And besides they bend like tin on the rocks.

You will get more flex and more onroad ride comfort with a wider YJ pack.

Just my opinions. Ive bandaided my fair share of CJ frames and spring hangers.

open C frame....
sleeves are gone since they were the only place that held water..

NO YJ springs...

Spoke to the galvanizing guy this morning in buffalo…
I think this is the way to go…
Once I get all the spring eyes rebuilt and other odds and ends its going for a zinc bath…

looks like reinforcements over inner spring mounts and bump stop locations, but allow for water draining
