my CJ5 was I6/T18/D20.
since i had the T18 shipped to my apartment in Rochester i had some planning and logistics to work out to get it done quick. I loaded the monster trans into the CJ5 passenger foot well, and drove to buffalo on a Friday after work. Following my crazy plan to swap in my moms garage with minimal tools and no time to screw up, i basically kept the D20 in its home to keep drive shafts same, moving the motor forward to account for the long trans. I moved the engine forward 3" Friday night with new frame mount sleeves, and a snub nose fan. Saturday I pulled the t14 and swapped in the T18 with new clutch and other bits swapped in. Had an issue that was determined the input shaft was too long bottoming out on the crank when trans bolts tightened up. 4 washers horseshoe shaped washers as spacers between bell housing and trans was a temp fix since i didn't have time to pull trans again and grind off a 1/16" from the input.
