Nice

Used CL Warn M8000 winch acquired.
"Intimidator" AGM battery on its way to replace unrevivable red top plOptima.
-
Since no one else has suggested much on the name front.
White Minnow -- you can't call it a whale with a 4banger under the hood. And it is "Moby Dick" to your Ahab. Kind of
What Ever (aka W.E.) -- then we can all say "Mark will wheel What Ever"
-
I say name it TOM.
Meaning...
Time Out of Mind.
Because i can't remember the last time we wheeled together.

White wing

Shakedown today at WP. Good thing, too...
4 LO inop for unknown reason. All other t-case modes function as normal. No grinding or unusual noises. Not linkage related, not broken output.
Maybe it should be "Broken Wing"

It'll learn to fly again....

That song was a favorite in my youth!
Turns out that I'm an uninformed idiot. After some interwebs research and adding 2+2, I hypothesized that this case may have the TeraLow 2LO shifter installed too. Shift pattern = 2HI, 4HI, N, 4LO, 2LO. In operating the TJ shifter in normal fashion by pulling back to the stop, I was firmly putting the case into 2LO. Local field test confirmed my ignorance and I am breathing a huge sigh of relief that I don't have to pull the case! Thank you, God!

man lucky twice in one day!
yea for meeting random people that their spare chevy tahao key works in your jeep lol
-
-
Dealer key no good. J&J for key cylinder = success!
-
couldnt just copy the chevy key?
-
Was doing funky things. Airbag light, blinkers inop. Must be a tumbler in there that knows...
-
Daughter's worn Saturn key worked too... :o
-
That's funny
-
This thing have a GM switch installed? Weird.
Tapatalking in traffic
-
no, key was lost while riding passenger after parking.
Kid that was wheeling there pulled up and his key worked in the jeep. driven on trailer and driven off with that key
neat
-
So I gathered - but two GM keys working on a jeep ignition and a dealer sourced key not working is a lil strange.

Previous owner located another key. Will be on it's way via USPS. Yea?!
-
Key sent from previous owner no-work-ie. :(
Tahoe key returned.
Junkyard ignition cylinder will stay. Spare key screwed to chassis.
FLX sticker affixed. It's now official.
Kinda liking "Whatever"...
-
RC trip broke a rear shock mount (poor welds), shock shaft, and tore a break line off. Parts on order...
-
If a shock mount was poorly welded, what else should you double check?
Tapatalking in traffic
-
Nothing? Until it breaks? ;D
-
Back to wheeling status.
New brake hose, brake line, shock, installed. Shock mount fabbed from 3/16" scrap. Extended hard line and bracket another 2 inches to allow full droop without stretching hose. Also installed new bump stop extensions and trimmed split poly bumps.
-
After this past RC weekend...
New rear bump stop that I could not seat properly vacated it's previously damaged jouncer cup. Flipped it upside down and wired-tied in. Good for the remainder of the weekend. Will attempt repair of existing cup and install properly.
The previously repaired rear ARB solenoid failed. Not enough "meat" on the wire left to effect another repair. Swapped front/rear for the weekend because I prefer to have a rear locker. Mikemike may have a replacement on hand...
-
I think I have a spare solenoid in the YJ toolbox if you need one to test..
-
I bought a spare I didn't need, Mark's covered!
-
Thanks Mikemike! And thanks for the offer Arie!
-
Jouncer cup removed, deburred and reinstalled. Bump stop deburred, lubed, and re-installed correctly. ARB solenoid swapped in.
Let's go wheelin!

Performance decal added

This thing got a little love today. One new axle u-joint and two new wheel bearings installed. Tightened frame side link bolts. Ready for more wheelin'!
-
Did they loosen up again or are you just making them moar tighter?
-
Upper third front link was quite loose. The rest just making sure.
-
Love it.

Aired up a flat, connected the battery lead, fired immediately, and pulled out of trailer. Checked fluids and topped off rear diff, ran a couple of laps around the yard, loaded back into the trailer. This thing just does not care.
Still sounds like a tractor but it's ready for 2016!
