Seeing the strap across the Hood reminded me that I saw an old military Willy's in the west bound lane as I was heading east on the top of a semi car hauler with the Hood flipped up against the windshield.. it was sad as I am sure it was not loaded that way.
-
Those hoods as you know are feather light....
On a vehicle never meant to go faster than 45 mph the slightest breeze will do something awful wrong..
-
This thing has sooo much potential for cool cruising. Odd fire v6 under the hood now. I'd say keep that, or find a flathead v8... Loose the top entirely, put in some low back seats.... Mmmm

m4wd will quote $39,700 to make that baby back to life for 80mph Sunday cruising.
get a title?
-
well the 39K sounds a bit high..
but we will be talking to M4 shortly about some potential work to be done prior to anything..
I need to see how solid everything is..
odd fire deff getting ripped out..
-
Have bill of sale, tag, probably old reg all in an envelope. No title on a '49
-
I say you drop a 360 in there and roll it as is!
-
need to talk to smike about options..
but I have been thinking..
-
Flathead!
-
i was joking lol

i was joking lol

I have a plan......
-
I LOVE plans :)
I want in on this one, sucker's gonna be sweet.
-
Scrap yard!!!
-
I had a long flight to think...
I need to get a good feel for what I have before I start investing in this..
Body needs to come off chassis...
Frame needs to be stripped and blasted
Body needs to be soda blasted and stored indoors
once these two things are done I can see what I have and how deep I want to get...
I might want to get M4wd in on the disassembly...
Dumpbus on the transportation
Profender on Ride control (assuming I give this a green light)

I am glad it stayed local. I owned it before Steve got it. Was going to build it for the "ex".
Traded it to Steve for a 69 Bronco. Always wanted one. That is a build after the sami is done, if it ever gets done.
Did you get the crate of parts as well? It had the guages cluster and other small trim items.
Good luck
-
Yup, harness and some gauges and maybe other stuff in a milk crate.
-
any history on it would be appreciated..
engine condition at time, trans, etc...
any known body issues..
-
Sorry no history. I bought it from an estate auction in Newark or Gowanda or something like that. I bought the vin plate from a guy in Florida.
-
so the engine was in it when you got it?
did you ever do any work to it or its just been sitting?
-
The closest I got to work on that was starring at it and collecting parts.
I talked to the owner at the sale and they said that the v6 was a popular swap for them. That's all I know about it.
