Jailbreak:

Was a complete PITD getting those supports cut. Need a 6" cutoff wheel that I can put into the space for a 3"...

Will need to move the tcase back for 700r4. And maneuver it even to get the 350 out. This is all the way in.

Found that the front shaft carrier bearing is loose on the shaft and loose as a bearing, both. Kissed the rear brake hard line with a cutoff wheel when the grinder kicked.

Not happy about moving the tcase and having to change shafts. Rear shaft has almost no slip left. Front shaft has no slip above the carrier bearing. Need to put the trannies next to each other on the floor but I expect to be looking at 4"

Sub strap mounts, inner belt mounts, center console mounting... Boo.

TCase doesn't want to move back (or at all) with all 4 bolts out. Trans still in car. About to get angry at it... Breaking for a breather and beverage. I'm not going to bed without two trannies next to each other and A Plan.

A match is a plan, Mark :)

Yup, pushed the skid down and she moved.

About 3.3" longer. need to move trans mount, mount pillow block off the side instead of flat while lengthening front shaft. Need to move case back, I was gonna cheat that tempermanently but it doesn't fit under the tube it's mounted from.

That technical drawing said how far back the mount is. Around an inch. The pan is also an inch longer so I need to move the mount for clearance, not just drill holes further back.  It is also a rectangle, which eats driveshaft and bearing and bearing mount clearance.

It will be easy to go back to a TH350 should I need to - the carrier of a 1350 CV is almost exactly the right length for a mini shaft between trans and case after things are pushed back.

It's gonna be super tight to make this race. I HATE that. Tempted to call it off now just so I don't kill myself this week. I figure at best I have two full days of work and that's assuming I don't need to redo the floor and can just remount what I took out. Oh, wait. Moving the case. Whose mounts stick the rough the floor. Fuck.

Oh - all so I can blow up a stock 100k tranny that's been on a shelf for a decade - since rushing a rebuild has proven to be a BAD idea.

TV cables on a 700r4 are a pitd. Does your motor have a spot for it?

changing too many things that have been proven to finish races!

that mid shaft (and front shaft) cluster has been a week point for a while.
