any truck you cant hold at full load with happy gages will hate towing

24-26k was about all my 24valve would be happy with before it got really annoying on the hills. 


The 4500 is 28K with just my buggy in the trailer, and regularly grosses 34-37K when rolling with two cars.  Hills kill it about like any other platform, but you forget the trailer is there any other time...

Comment being Matt doesn't need a heavier trailer and I don't want Matt's trailer I'm guessing...

Edge on any setting or stock, my truck wants to make lots of boost and get hot over 2300rpm. Makes accelerating or going 70 tough. Hawgs much better at 65 at 2100rpm. I suspect the small stock exhaust housing is choking it. I'm probably grossing 16-17k, not sure I want much more than 20k ever.

I want and am keeping an eye out for a 28' goose like your old one.

Part of my problem is that I have no frame of reference for what is normal for one of these trucks to do aside from what people tell me, I suspect I probably need to adjust my expectations and just drive it how it feels good.

i drove that 01 24 valve like a complete ass with tuner on tow mode.  love it. 


matts truck was fine when i pulled the wedge to KY 2 years ago   ::)

This trailer is galvanized and built like a tank. 8 lugs axles.
