i disagree nick. 

my truck is 9700lbs.  i would love the power my 24Valve had in that truck.  1500lbs and air still smaller than the trailer is not going to matter.


Big truck with light duty power and milage is where i want to be.  Big trucks and 4-7mpg is not where i want to be.

I need to start checking that pile for Eagle tahrs.

215/75 / 225/70 / 225/75 AT seems to be tough to find without buying new. I wish the MJ hadn't had a mismatch! They're perfect - and not made anymore to just buy a fourth :(

Is that a Cummins motor in that MDT? How detuned will it be behind an auto?

Would an 8.3 or larger really sacrifice economy that much? Bigger motor chugging along vs smaller motor working hard.

depends, id have to serously look at it and do some research. 

untill towing with my 4300, i really dont mind the Alison.  But yes they are limited with power.... kinda like an NV4500 really lol


a built 12valve and a 6 or 13speed would be awesome in my truck with an air ride conversion.  Id be happy.  Chad didnt seem interested in taking the truck for a month when i offered.

If you stay in the 20k pound range a 5.9 will work fine but how long do you really think you are not going to be pushing 30-40 thousand? You really have to come and drive my dump with both machines behind it and you will never bother with a 5.9 again. I was in your same shoes until I ran a truck with a big boy motor in it.

I know I'm not the most aesthetically oriented person around, but I just can't understand spending that kind of money on what seems like a decoration.
