Light duty dump body for a short bed, the extra 2' is a fixed tailgate

1) its not a dump body, just a flatbed with removable sides
2) the beveling in the back makes no sense, even if it is a dump body. If it was used as a dump, product would be scattered all over and the plug right there on would get damaged easily.

Interesting concept. I’ve been looking for crane options for grabbing fuels in particular. Something to handle barrels.

There was a 9’ service body for sale with a service crane on it. I was tempted but didn’t want to have to modify it for gooseneck clearance.

This sold 5yr ago but it’s kinda close. Still bigger than I want. Instead of 16’ reach and 3t capacity, about half of each would be perfect. A foot of frame length taken and hopefully 500-750# with an electric hydro pump instead of screwing with a pto. Though a pto pump probably wouldn’t be bad.

Searching for pickup jib crane shows some decent ideas along with some real junk. Most have drawbacks and anything not garbage is incredibly overpriced.

Might be able to make something that mounts to the headache rack, if built properly. My max loading needs are probably a thousand pounds, maybe 1200. Axles, engines, drums. Power rotate would be awfully nice for uneven surfaces but that could be done with a second winch without being too fancy. Almost surely need to build it in to the head of the bed for adequate support but some doable.
