Title: escalade fun
Post by: M4wdFab on January 01, 2023, 04:26:37 PM
black truck is a southern truck most its life.  had and underhood fire from bad radio wiring / sub power shorting.
anything plastic under hood or wiring toast.  looks like driver CV shaft, inner tie rod, sway bar link toast, brake hoses.
long block looks clean and good shape.  known good trans.  interior pretty much gutted and pooched.

white truck is NY, runs and drives, complete interior 8/10shape, no 3rd or 4th in trans.  leaking fuel line, blown brake line.

guy bought black truck to pull trans and a few other cosmetics to fix white truck, lost interest.

I think im going to concentrate on the black chassis, pull everything i need from J&J to make the engine run again as a chassis for a hot rod build.   hold off in tearing into the white truck, as it could be an easy flip or beater daily.  seems like 50$ in parts to fix 3/4 clutch pack / piston and doesnt look too bad on youtube.

lots of tire kickers past few days not a single parts sale yet.

pulled just about everything from the black one, its ready to scrap minus seats, i dont think they are worth pulling but seems to be a popular item thats requested.

still temped to flip the white one, i guess i need to re org and push it into the lift (leaks too much fuel to drive inside, but lot drives) and eval chassis weather its usable for a hot rod or not.

i have been watching a few 4l60e videos, i think i can manage to change a 3-4 pistion and 3-4 clutch pack, its like the first thing that comes out afer you pull the pump (i have done twice already on 572).  i think i have a spare core i can practice on also actually already apart with pump gone.
