The problem I've been experiencing over the years is split 5050.

You either find a guy that thinks he knows everything and wants 40 dollars an hour. But then when you put them on 1 of my job sites he can't organize his way out of a wet paper bag.

Or hey 10 dollar an hour guy that has no motivation. And no understanding of a hard days work.

In hindsight Paul was 1 of the most reliable people I've ever had.
And un fortunately it was the wrong time for both personal and business reasons.
And I've learned a few valuable lessons over the years about hiring friends. I'd rather keep them friends and hire some strangers. Or if I do hire friends they are on a subcontract basis.

I love giving money to friends when I've got to give it, but friends make terrible employees. Subs are much better: do this job and get it done, right.

Just to clarify...
I didn't mean Paul was the guy with no motivation. I was reffering to the last friend I hired. And Paul came to mind.
He actually cared! :D

and why work when the government pays more then you can amke working..
Keith proved that when he was unemployed... he made more sitting at home than a $10 hr job...
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
