We spent some time today looking for 4' lenghts of 4" dia Heat Shrink to wrap up on board drive shaft ends
i just found this.... might be worth it to split between us buggy guys with 1350s rolling around!

Interesting.
Off the top of my head, might be more durable to tack some pipe caps or tube cutoffs to large hose clamps?
If that’s the good thick HD stuff though it should last. I’d be in for some.

shrink wrap?

Normal things like tape and sharing wrap wear through. Needs to be super tough and thick and not prone to abrasion or tearing.
The tape shrink wrappers use might work but if this is heavy shrink tube I bet it’d be pretty good.

Is this for 1350 shafts or just the joints?
-
definitely would apply to both, similar problems.
if this were installed on the joint of a spare shaft during assembly and could just be around the 2 free caps that might be really fantastic (or much worse? but I think it would be helpful)

Matt now has 3 spare drive shafts affixed to his car for spares if needed. the thought was to take a short 3-5" section of 4" diameter heat shrink and "vac pac" the ends of the shaft to contain the caps and make easy cut away for install when needed.
if the stuff we ordered is looking thin, we planned to double it up.

new heat shrink worked awesome. nice and thick. looks good.
17$ for a 4' piece

Sweet! I'm ordering some.
My driveshafts sit in a toolbox in the tow rig, but this would still be useful.
