Whats the group consensus on wheel selection? Do you think steel or aluminum would hold up better?

Aluminum is lighter, less rotating mass, better acceleration. They are plenty strong enough.

id like to run some aluminum mustang 17" wheels with my Maxxis tires, or at least get them to fit.  maybe race with something smaller

Yea I agree with aluminum for weight savings.
Wasn't sure on their durability.

Planning to run Snow tires.

Cheap wheels all over CL.
Winter force snows we had on Cora's patriot were amazing.
89.00 each if I remember correctly for a 17" wheel.

others have said around 3k, and that seems right to me. 1500 for a caged thing assuming materials only, 500 in shocks, and a grand in safety, sundries, and tires.
