towing numbers for my ranger...

Depending where you're thinking of going, you might care more about being blown around in a midsize featherweight camper that kinda doesn't weigh enough and acts like a sail.

I second talking to Dopple. I expect he's towing with the Jeep that should have similar capabilities to the ranger - probably rated to tow 5000?
I second the P3 if it doesn't have built in brake controller.
I second the open trailer with Jeep too - but it won't be blown around as much as a camper in that 5500# empty weight range. I think Dennis' enclosed with the jeep in it might be a mite more than that but would give good windage feel.

I towed a large TT with my Titan to Vermont one time.  It was awful!

Thanks for the info, I'll look at the Tekonsha P3

I'll talk to Jay at some point. And maybe Dennis

I'll keep the hitch in mind

carchameleon:
just ordered a Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller
looks good as far as I have read and has a remote dial controller. similar cost to other controllers too
also looks like pretty simple install too

we just rented a camper for a week in June, going to Watkins glen with the kiddos, probably go to Ithaca for a day or 2 also. looking forward to seeing how the ranger does with a smaller travel trailer and how the kiddos do on a short trip..

haven't talked to jay
the rental place makes you use their wd hitch..

carchameleon:
Controller installed, just need to calibrate and test.
Looks much better than a tipical controller...

Whose trailer can I test it with?
